Comprehensive care for children and adults
with bleeding and thrombotic disorders
Our center
pendent, non-profit factor delivery service in 1999.
The program seamlessly integrates cost-effective
pharmacy services with your care.
The Boston Hemophilia Center is a combined
program of Children’s Hospital Boston and
Brigham and Women’s Hospital. We care
for more than 400 adults and children with
congenital bleeding disorders which makes
us the largest hemophilia treatment center in
New England. As a federally funded hemophilia treatment center, we provide care to
children and adults with hemophilia and
other bleeding disorders.
Genetic counseling and testing
One of our physicians is a hematologist and geneticist. Consults are available to families on the genetic
implications of having a bleeding disorder.
Access to new treatment approaches
through clinical research
Investigators at Children’s Hospital Boston and
Brigham and Women’s Hospital participate in large,
multi-center research studies for bleeding disorders,
as well as lead smaller independent initiatives to help
improve treatment.
Our services
We offer treatment for patients with hemophilia A
and B, von Willebrand Disease, platelet disorders,
factor deficiencies, genetic thrombotic disorders and
other bleeding disorders. Patients are offered fullservice outpatient and hospital services.
Comprehensive medical
evaluation and treatment
Our model of patient care is designed to provide
integrated, multidisciplinary care to patients of all
ages and their families. By emphasizing early diagnosis and intervention to prevent disease complica-
tions, our specialists create a positive impact on the
health, life-style and long-term well-being of people
with bleeding and clotting disorders.
Ongoing medical management
We have a dedicated team of care specialists who
serve as a helpful resource between clinic visits.
They are available to answer your questions 24 hours
a day, seven days a week.
Counseling and support
Our social workers are expert resources for emotional counseling, financial assistance, school and
work advocacy, crisis intervention and referrals to
pertinent community resources. One of our social
workers is fluent in Spanish.

Our multidisciplinary team

related bleeding disorders are seen at Children’s
Hospital Boston. Adult patients are seen at Brigham
and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute. We involve as many specialists as needed
to oversee every aspect of patient care.
