About our cupolas: Cupolas are constructed in a choice of two materials: Eastern White Pine, sanded and hand
painted with 2 coats of primer, followed by a finish coat of Benjamin Moore Brilliant White Latex, or maintenance free rigid
expanded PVC (Azek). Our roofs are finely crafted in copper, hand nailed with copper nails. The pagoda and paddock style
roofs have soldered seams. With our windowed cupolas, we use 3/16” unbreakable Lexan, and paint the cupolas inside and
out. All cupolas come with mounting hardware and pitch cutting instructions. We will be glad to cut the pitch for you, just
let us know the pitch or send us a template. Cupolas are shipped worldwide in heavy corrugated cartons, the larger cupolas
in sturdy wood crates.
About our weathervanes: From the benches at our shop here in Dartmouth, Mass., come some of the nicest
weathervanes made anywhere. We pride ourselves with our ability to produce fine quality “custom” bodied copper
weathervanes at a moderate price. We also offer a wide variety of weathervanes to keep within one’s budget, in aluminum
and in copper. If what you are looking for is not within these catalog pages or on our website, do not lose hope. We are by no
means limited to these designs.
About our finials: We are experts in finial fabricating. We have made hundreds of copper finials, from a simple ball
& spike to very large elaborate octagonal designs. Copper is the perfect touch to complete a lovely turret on your home or a
backyard gazebo.
Selecting the Right Size Cupola For Your Building:
Like anything you buy for the exterior of your home or yard, cupolas always look smaller on your roof than they did in a
showroom. The basic rule of thumb is 12” of cupola base for every 10’ of roofline. Of course, there are always exceptions. If
you have any reservations whatsoever regarding proper sizing, please do not hesitate to give us a call!!!

“Explanation of Options”
SCREENING: Black vinyl bug screen will be stapled along the insides of the cornerposts, roof, and base of the cupola.
RIGGING FOR WEATHERVANE: If you have a bodied copper weathervane, or may be thinking of
purchasing one now or in the
future, it is best to have the cupola prepared to support the vanes’ rod. Rigging for weathervane means we will put a cross board with a threaded
pipe flange up inside the roof section of the cupola, plumb under the ¾“ hole at the top.
DOUBLE BASE: A second baseboard is added to the original baseboard of the cupola
should your roof’s pitch be greater than what the original baseboard will accept. This
second board overlaps the original baseboard by three inches, thus extending the width of
the cupola’s base by 1 ½” and adding 4” in total height to the cupola.

EXTRA LOUVERS: If you wish to create a taller looking cupola, adding extra louvers is the
way to go. The charge for extra louvers is per row (1 extra row for a square cupola means
1extra louver for each side of the cupola). One row on a small cupola or a 6 or 8 sided cupola
will add 1 ½” to the height of the cupola, 2” for a medium size cupola, and 2 ¾” for large
cupolas.

ARCHES: We can finish the top of the louver section with an arched fascia, especially nice if your
garage doors are arched. PLEASE NOTE: We strongly recommend also adding two extra louvers
when adding arches; the arches tend to cover most of the top of the two louvers.

LIGHT SOCKET: Nothing adds more charm to the exterior or your home than to have a soft glow illuminating inside of your cupola. We
can install an electrical box and a porcelain lamp holder within the base of the cupola, and provide 20’ of 14/2 Romex wiring. We will also have
the louvers on one side of the cupola removable for easy access.
WIRED FOR LANTERN:
Windowed cupolas can be equipped with a plywood ceiling with an electrical box with 20’ of 14/2 Romex
wiring. We offer copper lanterns (see page 19).
WINDOW HINGED & LATCHED:
Allows quick and easy access into the cupola to change a light bulb.
SPECIAL PAINT: If you wish to have your cupola finish painted in something other than Benjamin Moore Brilliant White Latex, we will
be glad to locate what you are using, if possible. Please be very specific as to brand name, mixing formula, gloss, etc
PATINA GREEN FINISH: We can treat the copper with an acid solution to prematurely age it. This will not damage the copper, it will
simply make it look old. Copper roofs generally take about 10 years or more to develop a nice patina of its own.
CLEAR PROTECTIVE COATING: A clear spray can be applied to the copper to help maintain its new look. Three coats will be
applied.
WIRED FOR OUTLET:
A separate 14/2 Romex wire will lead to a junction box with a four plug receptacle, mounted within the
base . This can be used to run Christmas lights out from the cupola.

We have made hundreds of finials in copper or lead coated copper
over the years. Every finial that we make is unique. They vary from 6” to 48”
wide. The caps of the finial can be round, square, hexagonal, or octagonal.
They may be shallow pitched, steeply pitched, or pagoda. They may have
intricate components such as; balls, spikes, vases, cans, flowers, scrolls, scallop
edges, steps, arrows, diamonds, etc. The way we price a finial is by
