City and trends City lighting and street furniture Introduction GHM has been dedicated to providing urban fixtures since 1840 - with a passion. Over the years, the company has acquired a unique combination of skills and methods oriented to the design and manufacture of lighting fixtures and street furniture. As well as expertise in metallurgy in all its aspects (smelting, metalsmithing, machining, finishing, etc.) there is a recognised optical expertise, leading to the creation of quality fittings. We have 800 employees in four different factories in France, every day producing fixtures used by people in cities across the world: hundreds of references attest to this. Designers, architects, town planners and community decision makers recognise the uniqueness of GHM and its solutions and rely on its skills every day. This publication only gives a partial overview of the solutions designed by GHM, and is only intended to illustrate the variety of its ranges. Do not hesitate to contact your company representatives. They will be happy to guide you through the wide choice of GHM products. Summary 2 This catalogue summarises by categories some of GHM’s solutions, illustrating its expertise. Created by talented designers, 16 different ranges (only eight of which are shown here) offer visually homogeneous lighting, lampposts, benches, bins, fences, posts, bollards, etc. In a sometimes dispersed urban world, each GHM, line brings a sense of belonging and consistency, bringing a single identity and distilling a message of newfound unity and caring continuity. KEO line design : Michel Tortel The KEO line brings in a new, modern and convivial rhythm; the eye is drawn and seduced by the soft sequence of its volumes and twists, both a refrain and the promise of new city-based comfort. KEA line design : Michel Tortel The KEA line creates a new urban concept to the city environment, in which geometry rhymes with simplicity; its patterns, decorative and aerial chequerboards, evoke the poetry of repetition, and echo the contemporary perspectives of cities and districts. 5 4 IXEA line design : Michel Tortel The IXEA line is the successful result of contemporary urban trends: modern lines, elegant textures and volumes, the modularity and integration of the street lighting partake of a well inspired synthesis. PIXEL line design : STOA Architecture The PIXEL line combines the quality of today’s street furniture: classic and minimal, like a pixel, a basic unit and elementary particle, solid but decorative through the subtle combination of cast iron and wood. Lines VENGO-VENGA line The VENGO-VENGA line plays the French-style high-end card. The subtle play of patterns and textures, elegantly produced using the same material, are inspired by the finish and seduction of haute couture, while cast iron gives this street furniture perfect strength. FESTONE line The FESTONE line gives a new movement in an urban context, its shapes suggest energy, lightness and elegance. The cast iron brings its plasticity - but also its solidity - to this updated vision of street furniture mixing together dynamism, modernity and wisdom. 6 BELL’ ORA line design : Integral Ruedi Baur The BELL’ORA line stands out with its both fun and reasonable design. FLORE line design : Françoise Persouyre The FLORE line causes instant well-being in city-dwellers through its benevolent suggestions of vegetation. Some urban contexts conversely evoke a soul with a past dear to the heart of the city’s residents. Finally, other situations require a custom approach, bringing more up-to-date messages. Cast iron and its unlimited plastic variations lend themselves to all these requests and the contemporary cast iron lighting solution programme designed by GHM is absolutely unique. However, steel brackets constitute the majority of GHM’s production, and continuous research leads to a wide choice of contemporary packages responding to the architectural trends of the moment. This ability to click the right button, so as to arouse the soul of the city, is expressed through broad projects (monumental squares, fountains) or isolated schemes (village squares). Listed sites in particular require special treatment which GHM’s solutions satisfy in all respects.
