1. A souvenir plaque will be presented to
each Participating Member Association.
Participation certificates will be presented to
each member of each official team delegation.

2. FIFA shall be responsible for the administration of the award ceremony, which shall take
place after the final match. The FIFA President
or his representative, the head of state of the
host country or his representative, and the

shall be part of the award ceremony.
The adidas Golden Boot will be awarded to the
player who scores the most goals in the final
competition. If two or more players score the
same number of goals, the number of assists
(as determined by members of the FIFA Technical Study Group) will be decisive. If two or more
players are still equal after taking into account
the number of assists, the total minutes played
in the final competition will be taken into account, with the player playing fewer minutes
ranked first.
3. A representative from FIFA will present the
winner of the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ with the
trophy.
4. A diploma will be presented to the associations ranked first, second, third and fourth in
the final competition.
5. Medals will be presented to each of the top
three teams in the final competition, i.e. gold
medals to the winners, silver medals to the runners-up and bronze medals to the team ranked
third.
6. One medal will be presented to each of the
match officials who take charge of the play-off
for third place and the final.
7. A fair play contest will be held during the
final competition. The FIFA Organising Committee will determine the ranking at the end of the
final competition. Such decisions are final.
8. At the conclusion of the FIFA Women’s World
Cup™, the following special awards will be presented:
a) Fair Play Trophy
The FIFA Fair Play Trophy, a fair play medal
for each Delegation Member, a diploma and a

b) adidas Golden Boot
A Silver Boot and a Bronze Boot for the second and third highest goalscorers will also be
awarded.
c) adidas Golden Ball
The adidas Golden Ball will be awarded to the
best player in the final competition on the basis of a ranking compiled by the FIFA Technical
Study Group. A Silver Ball and a Bronze Ball
will be awarded to the second and third best
players.
d) adidas Golden Glove
The adidas Golden Glove will be awarded to the
best goalkeeper in the final competition on the
basis of a ranking compiled by the FIFA Technical Study Group.
e) Best Young Player
The Best Young Player will be awarded to the
best young player in the tournament, as selected by the FIFA Technical Study Group.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup™ Trophy is a
valuable component of the event.
DESIGN STORY
The official Trophy incorporates two of the
attributes of women’s football: elegance and
dynamism. Originally handmade, it is in the
form of a spiral band which encloses a football
at the top. The Trophy was recently fitted with
a modern, cone shaped base which reinforces
the uplifting spirit of the design.
The designer described it like this: ‘It states
with a simple movement at the bottom, then
rises upwards in a dancing crescendo of
elegance, just like the level of interest that
women’s football is raising in the world.’
The design supports the FIFA President’s
repeated observation: ‘The future of football is
feminine.’

129 NATIONS PARTICIPATE IN THE
FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP CANADA 2015™
A record 129 nations will participate in the FIFA
Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™. Only host
Canada skipped the Qualifiers, with the other
128 nations competing in 398 qualification
matches from 4 April 2013 to 2 December 2014.
After 105 nations are eliminated, 23 finalists
will join the hosts from 6 June to 5 July 2015 in
six Canadian cities.
Through the Official Draw on 6 December 2014,
the 24 finalists are separated into six groups.
Following the group phase, the knockout phase
features the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the
semi-finals, and both the match for 3rd place
and Final Match. In all, 52 matches will be
played in the final competition, with matches to
be played in six Canadian host cities.

Serbia, Denmark lost 0:1 at home to
Switzerland, a result that would ultimately help eliminate the Danes and
help qualify the Swiss more than seven months later in June 2014.

With no points dropped and just one goal
conceded in their ten qualifying matches,
Sweden’s campaign might be viewed as
having been near perfect. Yet coach Pia
Sundhage noted Sweden’s status as Europe’s lowest-scoring group winners - albeit
with 32 goals. The toughest match, without
question, was a narrow 1:0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in October 2013.

vastly experienced Therese Sjögran provide the
solid foundation on which the new-look Sweden
is built, inspiration is sought from Schelin. The

While both Schelin and Fischer were nominees
for the 2014 FIFA Women’s World Player of the
Year award, they only made up half of Sweden’s
