Distributed in February, May, August and November, the newsletter highlights Chamber and community events, legislative initiatives, member features and much more! Quality Readership The Advocate is either a 12 or 16-page glossy publication in full color. With a qualified readership of more than 23,000 people, The Advocate is read by some of the region’s top professionals. As an advertiser, you can be sure that your message is reaching senior-level management in most major industries doing business in the region, such as banking, education and construction. State and local government officials and the local media are also on the Chamber’s publication distribution list. Distribution The Advocate is mailed to Chamber members four times a year. Twice each year, in May and August, the newsletter is also inserted into approximately 22,000 copies of the Daily News-Record (DNR). The DNR, Harrisonburg’s local newspaper, is one of the most trusted sources of information for people throughout Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. BAH’s are typically held the third Thursday of the month, 5-7pm, at locatio HarrisonbRockingham area. Hosting a Business After Hours will give your business high visibility within the Chamber’s media outlets: our website, The Advocate, and our weekly e-blast. The sponsor is responsible for all food and refreshment costs and door prizes. As a sponsor, you are entitled to showcase any promotional materials regarding your business or new product highlights. Members are not charged based on the number of times their ad is seen or clicked on. Sponsorship Policy Statement All sponsorships shall be awarded to the first business or individual respondent. Businesses or individuals sponsoring an amount of $1,500 or more per event will have the right of first acceptance for three consecutive years. After this time, sponsorships may be extended by the current sponsor provided there are no other requests for a particular opportunity. Businesses or individuals sponsoring an event in the amount of $1,500 or above will have an exclusive sponsorship, which means that other businesses in their Chamber classification cannot be an additional sponsor of the same event at the same level. However, sponsorships below the $1,500 may be of the same classification. All sponsorship opportunities, available as of January 1st, will be published in the Chamber’s Sponsorship Handbook, which is accessible on the website at www. hrchamber.org. To determine what sponsorships are currently available, please check the individual event or program pages. Sponsorship opportunities shall be announced using the Chamber’s communication tools, including print, electronic and web-based media.
