About the Advocate
The Advocate is the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of
Commerce’s quarterly newsletter. Distributed in February, May,
August and November, the newsletter highlights Chamber and
community events, legislative initiatives, member features and
much more!
Quality Readership
The Advocate is either a 12 or 16-page glossy
publication in full color.
With a qualified readership of more than 23,000
people, The Advocate is read by some of the region’s top
professionals. As an advertiser, you can be sure that your
message is reaching senior-level management in most
major industries doing business in the region, such as
banking, education and construction. State and local
government officials and the local media are also on the
Chamber’s publication distribution list.
Distribution
The Advocate is mailed to Chamber members four times
a year.
Twice each year, in May and August, the newsletter is
also inserted into approximately 22,000 copies of the
Daily News-Record (DNR). The DNR, Harrisonburg’s
local newspaper, is one of the most trusted sources of
information for people throughout Harrisonburg and
Rockingham County.
When you take into account the nationally-proven
formula of 2.5 readers per issue, your message has the
potential to reach upwards of 57,000 people. With a
history of publication spanning more than a century,
the DNR delivers to residents in the city and county.
To ensure that our advertisers receive maximum
visibility, every issue of The Advocate is also placed
on the Chamber’s website at www.hrchamber.org
for viewing and downloading. The website generates
more than 15,000 page views each month.
Advertise in 3 Ways
For more information:
Advertising in The Advocate is reserved exclusively for
