and flexible staff know how to plan your wedding
reception and rehearsal dinner so that you may relax and
enjoy the entire experience. The Upper Crust customizes
each menu to meet your wishes and the specifications

Our Facilities
The Upper Crust is proud to be the exclusive
catering company for both Gardencourt and Actors
Theatre of Louisville. Both of these facilities offer
exciting options for wedding receptions.
Although we are the exclusive caterer for
Gardencourt and Actors Theatre, we are also approved
to operate at most of the premier event facilities in the
metro area. So, as we have done for years, The Upper
Crust will be glad to cater your event at any location.

For an afternoon reception between 2:00 p.m.
and 5:00 p.m., you would want to select five to six
different appetizers. For an evening reception, after
5:00 p.m., your guests will be expecting dinner
and we would recommend seven to eight different
items for your buffet. All of our buffets include fresh
greenery, skirting and accessories for a formal or
casual look.
If you would like china for your reception, or your
site requires tables, chairs or even a tent, we can
make those arrangements for you. We work
with three of the most reputable rental companies
in town and can find the best one that fits your
needs or budget. All costs would be itemized on a
formal event proposal.

On the following pages are some of our more
popular offerings for a cocktail reception. All of our
menus are customized and we like to be creative,
however, space does not allow us to list everything we
can make. If you would like something more unusual
or don’t see something you want on this menu, please
ask and more than likely we can accommodate
your request. In addition, we will be glad to assist
you with any special dietary needs.
Your proposal would be based on your guest count,
rental and labor costs, facility commissions, etc.
Your costs depend on your final guest count, which
is due two weeks before your event, along with
final payment. A signed catering contract and 25%
down payment confirms your event and is due upon
acceptance of the event proposal.

The Upper Crust will deliver your Hot or Cold Buffet in disposable containers with
disposable utensils and dinnerware. For the Hot Food Buffet, we will deliver your hot food
in our disposable hot food carriers. If you want chafers, coffee pumps or utensils without
a server present, we will be happy to provide you with the phone number of our rental
company to reserve the items you may require.
There will be a 10% surcharge on all orders for plasticware, disposable containers &
utensils.

On the following pages are some of our most
popular dinner offerings.
dinner menus
For a buffet dinner, you will want to select two
meat entrees and three to four vegetables or starches.
Salads can be pre-set on your guest tables or you can
offer two (or more) on your buffet, to add variety.
A plated dinner can be one entree selection or
as a combination entree on the same plate with
one vegetable and one starch. We also recommend
providing a vegetarian option. Rolls, coffee and iced
tea accompany all dinners, plated or buffet, at no
additional charge.
Many clients want hors d’oeuvres passed or offer
an appetizer/cheese table prior to dinner. Please see
cocktail receptions for these selections.
Tastings can be arranged by appointment after
an initial meeting at a cost of $25.00 per person (for
six items) for more than 2 guests - the first 2 guests
are free.
A brief phone conversation or a personal
conversation with our Event Coordinator will help
simplify the process, address available options
and assist you in tailoring a menu that meets your
expectations.

The following guidelines have been designed to assist you in
planning and budgeting for your upcoming event. Each event is
different and consideration should be given to the type of event
and service which you expect. For example, a formal
multi-course sit-down dinner requires more staffing than a
formal casual reception buffet with the same number of guests.
For example:
A Formal Reception – (typically uses china)
One Server per 50 guests
One Bartender per 75 guests
One Utility Person per 100 guests
One Supervisor
Additional kitchen staffing if needed

An Informal Reception – (typically uses plastic products)

Staff personnel are contracted on an hourly basis at the rates
quoted above. Please note that staff typically arrives at the
event facility two hours prior to the event, for set-up, and must
remain onsite through final clean up, generally one hour after.
Therefore, a four hour event will require a minimum of seven
hours service time per person. Due to insurance restrictions,
personnel are not permitted to leave the event premises to
purchase items (i.e. liquor, ice, etc.) that are not provided/
contracted through Upper Crust, Inc.

Host Sponsored Bar
The event host pays for liquor based on the number of guests guaranteed. Bartender
fees will be based on the number of bartenders required and the length of the event.
Prices include mixers, bar fruit, plastic wares and ice.
Extra Premium Liquors
The list of extra premium liquors includes Grey Goose Vodka, Bombay Sapphire Gin,
Premium Jamaican Rums, Single Batch Bourbons, Single Malt Scotches, and Blended
Whiskeys, Tequilas, Liqueurs, Wines and Small Batch Beers available in the local market.
Additional Considerations
• Hosted bars include Liquor Liability Insurance but do not include bartender fees, sales
tax or off-premise facility commissions where applicable.
• Additional liquor, wine, and beer selections available upon request.
Host-Provided Beverages
For those venues that allow you to provide your own liquor and soft drinks, we are happy to
provide bartenders, set-ups, and glassware at an additional charge. Please note that Liquor
Liability Insurance is required by all rental facilities and is charged according to the number of
