Asian spirituality through advice and aphorisms. In
its thirty-six chapters, Lucas Estrella offers us the

his martial arts teachers: the “Warriors” who, in this
book, propose various situations, stages and tests in
order to reach the path that will perhaps lead us to
our desired self-knowledge. Fundamental reading
for those who wish to internalize the philosophy and
spirituality of the East.

What Happened to Us as
Children and What We’ve
Done with That
This book reveals how certain emotional and psychic
imbalances are formed based on feelings of maternal
abandonment and lack of love, and explains how
to revert them through a method created by the
author: human biography. Here the author describes
the psychic damage (fears, obsessions, anxieties)
that can be caused by childhood experiences of
neglect, and how we can seek out mechanisms of
emotional survival in order to ease them. The author
invites us to look objectively at what happened
in our childhood, and she suggests investigating
our mothers’ emotional imbalances and the
consequences they had on us when we were still
dependent on them.
ARGENTINA / Laura Gutman
Laura Gutman is a researcher of human behavior
and a writer. She has published several books on
motherhood, fatherhood, early ties, emotional
abandonment, addictions and social violence, and
has developed a methodology for personal inquiry
called “Human biography.” All her books have been
highly successful in Argentina, throughout Latin
America and in Spain.

Touched by God
The Life, Thoughts and Methods of a
Leader
How We Won the Mexico 86 World Cup
Marcelo Gallardo was the only man in the history of
the River Plate Football Club to win international
titles both as a player and as a coach. This book
recounts Gallardo’s year-and-a-half run as the coach
of River (from June 2014 to November 2015), based
on his testimony and that of his coworkers. It also
takes the reader to Gallardo’s infancy, his boyhood
experiences, his three periods as a player with River,
the two World Cups he took part in, and his time
playing in Europe.

Thirty years from those magical plays, and after
a life in sports marked by controversy, Maradona
tells for the first time, in the first person, the untold
stories behind that one-of-a-kind World Cup. In
this book, he tells us about each and every game and
what happened afterward in the locker room, but
also the months leading up to the World Cup. He
also explains the mystery behind “El Gran Capitán”
Passarella (’78 World Cup Champion) leaving the
team, the strategies and tactics that revolutionized
the game, the public’s hostility, his relationship
to drugs: the clean World Cup, the “final” with
England, the Hand of God, and the best goal in
football history.

Corazón apache
Apache Heart
A biography of Carlos Tévez, whose return to Boca
Juniors closes a circle in the career of one of the
most important strikers in the history of Argentine
football. The book portrays his life from two
perspectives. Firstly, through his undeniable sport
achievements: Tévez is a beloved champion who has
played in many World Cups and has an Olympic gold
medal. Secondly, his uncompromising spirit: “The
Apache” has reached the pinnacle of success and
never lost the magic of the boy from Fuerte Apache.
This combination is clearly what has made him such
a cherished figure.

Political Autobiography
Portraits from Memory
Autobiografía política is a critical, and a thorough
political and historical analysis of Mexico. The
author recounts the 1968 movement, his years in
Paris, his left-wing educational background, and his
visits to Cuba and Nicaragua. He offers accounts of
topics and personalities, such as George Bush, Felipe
Calderón Hinojosa, Bill Clinton, Condoleezza Rice,
Carlos Salinas de Gortari, the Free Trade Agreement,
Cuba and the Castro family, his pronouncement
as Secretary of Foreign Affairs, or the Iraq War.
Castañeda also reflects upon the difficulties faced by
capitalism in Mexico and his intention to proclaim
himself as an independent candidate for Mexico’s
presidency.
What lies behind a great figure? Is his public image
the same as his private personality? In this book, Dr.
Sanguinetti records his memories of the compelling
personalities he got to know throughout his life,
explained with the intimacy of someone talking to
a close friend. He portrays memories of people who
disappeared, and finally considered legends for all
the word, in particular for Uruguay. A subjective,
personal, first-hand account from one of the most
relevant figures in Uruguayan politics.
URUGUAY / Julio María Sanguinetti
Jorge Castañeda was Secretary of Foreign Affairs
in Mexico (2000-2003). He has published articles
in newspapers from Reforma to El País, and the
magazine TIME. He is a member of the governing
body of Human Rights Watch, the American
Academy of Arts and Science, and The American
Philosophical Society.
Julio María Sanguinetti is a Doctor of Law
and Social Science from the Universidad de la
República, and was president of Uruguay in two
periods (1985-1990, 1995-2000). He has been
awarded the UNESCO’s Bolívar Prize (2000),
Pluma de Honor from the Argentine Journalism
Academy (2008), was recently given the title
of Honorary Professor at the Universidad de
Lima (2012) and the Medal of Honor from the
Universidad Internacional Menéndez y Pelayo, in
Santander, Spain (2013).

put together the complete biography of one of the

Marco Rubio is the first Hispanic person in history
with a serious chance of reaching the White House.
He is the son of immigrants who fled misery in
Cuba before Castro’s rise to power and stumbled
on their path to the American Dream. His career
path perfectly symbolizes the rise of the Hispanic
community, and allows the authors to paint a
portrait of both a young, ambitious politician and
the young, ambitious community he represents, to
offer a multi-faceted image of the most important
country in the world and the role Hispanics play
within it.

Iron Gate
The Unpublished Documents and Secret
Meetings of Perón’s Exile
The largest, most revealing and most controversial
collection of documents from the final years of Juan
Domingo Perón. Juan Bautista Yofre focuses not on
the presence of the leader as Argentine president,
but instead sheds light on his monumental absence,
on how he projected political action while in exile.
The author reveals unpublished treasures from the
“crocodile room,” the underground archive kept by
Perón in his home in Madrid. Yofre gained access to
the leader’s personal archives, as well as a series of
document collections that are only now seeing the
light for the first time in these pages.

Money Laundering and
Political Corruption
The Brain Snatcher
The Art of International Organized Crime
Pere Estupinyà strikes again seeking out the most
brilliant minds in order to steal their knowledge,
their experiments, and their visions of where the
world is headed. The brain thief reminds us that
having a predisposition for learning, reflecting and
absorbing new ideas makes us more intelligent both
as a society and as individuals. He shows us how
important critical thought is to our lives and how
scientific thinking can help us to improve and make
better decisions in our daily lives.
Edgardo Buscaglia continues his pressing
investigation into organized crime and its links to
political corruption, this time on an international
scale. He focuses on the evolution and keys to
money laundering, which sustains the proprietary
and financial networks of criminal groups around
the planet: including the Sinaloa Cartel, the
Italian-American mafia, the Yakuza, the Triads
and other Asian groups. This book ventures down
paths unexplored by international cooperation
and proposes concrete mechanisms for fighting
organized crime that go beyond the lack of political
determination by corrupt regimes under the thumb
of criminal networks.

The end of 2015 was marked by a surprising event:
the end of an era in contemporary Argentina, the
triumph of Cambiemos, a new political force that put
an end to a quarter century of Peronist hegemony,
crowned by three Kirchnerist presidencies. Hernán
kept an exhaustive, detailed and reflective a historic
document that is, at the same time, almost an
electoral thriller. Through its pages, readers have
a front row seat to a historical sea change. Iglesias

This book is a regressive general history of all things:
stars, gravity, huge atoms, light, time, omnipresent
Higgs, and the variety of life. The author takes the
reader on a journey from carbon and its generous
geometry to the heart of stars; the primordial plasm
where light atoms and its elemental components
emerged; and the Great Explosion, cosmic inflation,
and the decisive moment between being and
nothingness. The history of all things and the history
of us all is the greatest history ever told.

Murakami’s Japan
The Brothers Born
Murakami’s Japan or Japan’s Murakami? Japan is
seen on each page of his novels; you can sense it in
the words, the gestures, the values and roots of his
quest. Murakami’s Japan aspires to show this reality
through “Murakamian” leitmotifs tracing different
trajectories: Japan’s exacerbated communism of
the 1980s, the Japan of changing social values, the
Japan of underground violence, the Japan of caustic
criticism of the system, and the turn-of-the-century
Japan.
A real-life thriller of political finances behind
the kidnapping of Jorge and Juan Born. In 1975
Argentina witnessed the most expensive kidnapping
in history. The fortune from the wealthiest family
in the country served to finance the “Montoneros”,
an Argentine leftist urban guerrilla and subversive
group. Jorge Born II, president of Bunge and Born
industry, refused to pay the rescue of 100 million
dollars for his two sons. So, Jorge negotiated his own
rescue, bringing it down to 60 million dollars, and
convincing his father to pay for it before Juan turned
crazy.

There is nothing more comfortable for us —nor
more dangerous— than certainties. Our best defense
against certainty is philosophy; which forces us to
question, dares us to think and examine established
truths to see what they hide. In this stroll through
the history of philosophy, Savater introduces us to
the big figures whose questions, and sometimes
answers, have marked Western thought. Plato,
Aristotle, Nietzsche, Marx, Ortega, Wittgenstein,
among other philosophers. This book is an invitation

Franco Supporters Versus
Franco Supporters
The most detailed account of the little-known
internal fighting in the coalition that won the
Spanish Civil War. Despite a fundamental shared
program that was anti-communist and the left in
general, opposed democracy and liberalism, as well
as freemasonry, and was in favor of Catholicism,
and the use of violence as a political tool, Francoism
included different sectors that competed for power.
These internal struggles right at the end of the war
have rarely been studied and are part of a fascinating

On March 19th 1976 Argentine society listened
attentively as the opposition leader established his
position towards what appeared to be imminent:
a new coup d’état. The armed phenomenon in
Latin America —particularly in Argentina— had
begun several years earlier in Cuba, when the
new leaders decided to export their revolution,
aimed not a liberating countries from their
reigning dictatorships, but rather at promoting a
Marxist-Leninist revolution. In this book, Yofre

this, some of them from the archives of the former

The Mexican Intellectual
A Hair’s Breath
A Species in Danger of Extinction
An essay on hair in culture and literature, from the
Bible to fashion magazines. Margo Glantz brings
together playful experimentation and meticulous
research in her exploration of hair in literature,
film, music and other forms of cultural expression.
In this book both the body and the text tend
toward fragmentation. It is an interdisciplinary,
intercultural and intergender book that offers a
kaleidoscopic vision of a topic both eccentric and
familiar, superficial and intimate: hair.
This book is an in-depth look at the Mexican
intellectual with the intention of dialoguing with this
tradition. The resulting image is a polyphonic selfportrait, drawn through interviews with fourteen
of the most prominent intellectuals in Mexico.
Through their testimonies, Emmanuel Carballo,
Elena Poniatowska, Enrique Semo, Huberto Batis,
Víctor Flores Olea, Vicente Leñero, Roger Bartra,
Rolando Cordera, Lorenzo Meyer, Héctor Aguilar
Camín, Jorge G. Castañeda, José Woldenberg, Juan
