Lumen
A unit of measurement of the amount of
brightness that comes from a light source.
Lumens define “luminous flux,” which is energy
within the range of frequencies we perceive
as light. For example, a wax candle generates
about 13 lumens; a 100 watt bulb generates
about 1200 lumens.
COLOUR TEMPER ATURE
Colour temperature is a characteristic of visible
light. The colour temperature of a light source
is the temperature of an ideal black-body
radiator that radiates light of comparable hue
to that of the light source. Colour temperature
is conventionally stated in the unit of absolute
temperature, the kelvin, having the unit symbol K.
Colour temperatures over 5000K are called
cool colours (bluish white), while lower colour
temperatures (2700-3000K) are called warm
colours (yellowish white through red).

The energy efficiency of the appliance is rated
in terms of a set of energy efficiency classes
from A to E on the label, A++ being the most
energy efficient, E the least efficient. One of
the main aims of the EU Energy Label is to
help householders make informed decisions
about the purchase of energy-consuming
appliances.

These days, it’s hard to get through a day without
hearing about green building, sustainability
or the environment. With the ever-escalating
cost of utility bills, home lighting is one of the
issues at the forefront of the green building
movement. This is why we started to improve
our collection of halogen lights by using bulbs
that use 20% less energy but produce the same
amount of lumen.
PROTECTION DEGREE
The IP-code classifies the degrees of protection
provided against the intrusion of solid objects,
accidental contact, and water in electrical
enclosures. The first digit indicates the level of
protection that the enclosure provides against
access to hazardous parts (e.g., electrical
conductors, moving parts) and the ingress of
solid foreign objects.
The second digit indicates the protection of
the equipment inside the enclosure against
harmful ingress of water.

LEDLIGHTS
LED LIGHT
LEDs have several advantages over conventional incandescent lamps. For one thing,
they don’t have a filament that will burn
out, so they last much longer. Additionally,
their small plastic bulb makes them a lot
more durable. They also fit more easily into
modern electronic circuits. But the main
advantage is efficiency.
LEDs generate very little heat, relatively
speaking. A much higher percentage of the
electrical power is going directly to generating
light, which cuts down on the electricity
demands considerably. While LED may be
more expensive than incandescent lights
up front, their lower cost in the long run can
make them a better buy.

FLUORESCENT LIGHT
Compact fluorescent lights and other
fluorescent light bulbs are an extremely
energy-efficient lighting option. CFLs are
three to five times more energy efficient
than incandescent light bulbs.
A fluorescent bulb produces less heat, so it
is much more efficient. A fluorescent bulb
can produce between 50 and 100 lumens
per watt. This makes fluorescent bulbs four
to six times more efficient than incandescent bulbs. That’s why you can buy a 15 watt
fluorescent bulb that produces the same
amount of light as a 60 watt incandescent
bulb.

The main differences between our work
lights are their size and their type of bulb.
