Tuesday, October 14 at 6-7:30pm Urban Style Step Dance Workshop Inspired by elements of heritage and cultural diversity found in urban areas, Montreal-based [ZØGMA] merges dance, music and song into powerful rhythmic works, creating a new aesthetic of Quebec folklore. Incorporating the rhythm, images and characters of a city, Sokalo is a show that moves – both literally and figuratively. This transmedia storytelling initiative celebrates people and places through the gathering, mapping and theatrical presentation of our living memories of main streets and downtowns. Beginning in September, theatre and media company FIXT POINT will gather stories through interviews with community stakeholders, local heroes, business owners and residents. Once the information is compiled, these collected memories will be presented back to the community through a performance installation.
