Vale-Bridgecraft has always been committed to lasting
quality, creating elegant but extremely robust upholstery
that can become “a part of the family”.
The companies, based in West Yorkshire have a
combined history of 130 years expertise, drawing from
the long established skills in joinery and textiles that
the region is famous for, as well as its heritage of fine
furniture making.
We are based in Mytholmroyd, near Hebden Bridge.
The village is famed for its literary associations as well
as its superb surrounding countryside of wooded dales
and open moors.

Vale-Bridgecraft is dedicated to uncompromising
quality in the creation of upholstery that will stand the
test of time. Every piece of furniture we make involves
an exceptional percentage of hand crafted work, only
possible through traditional skills and time honoured
knowledge.

and finished in every delicate detail, all Vale-Bridgecraft
upholstery is thoroughly quality inspected before being

We offer you a wide choice in each collection, giving a
more flexible option than the conventional “three piece
suite” and allowing you the customer to select pieces of
furniture and styling details to suit your needs.
Hand carved wooden fasciae for arms, wings and
carved rails and legs, are designed to give selected
collections of our upholstery an extra flourish of style
and traditional elegance. With all of our ranges that
offer this option, carved wood is complemented by the
ultimate in modern seating comfort.
There are literally thousands of choices in ValeBridgecraft’s fabric range. Many of these are produced
exclusively for Vale-Bridgecraft by a distinguished
group of specialist fabric makers from around the
world. The unique designs in construction are
especially suitable for first class upholstery, hardwearing and pleasing to touch.

Inside all our upholstery is a special strength, celebrated
throughout the furniture industry. We use Beech and
Birch hardwood to craft and shape especially generous
frames, up to 20% more than average, to give them
extra substance. We are so confident in our frames and
springs that we have given them a 25 year guarantee,
subject to general wear and tear. Our timber is sourced
from ‘well-managed’ forests that adhere to the strict
standards set out by the FSC and the PEFC.

The Livorno and Modena combine the elements of traditional comfort with
curvaceous modern styling. The split back fibre cushions offer good head
and lumbar support finished with high resilient seat cushions, supported by
coil springs combined with a sprung front edge. Hardwood frames, glued,
screwed and double dowelled ensures many years of use. The Modena is
also available with three seater or two seater sofas.

Empire
The Empire is one of our most dramatic designs and its sumptuous curving
arms make a clear allusion to furniture styling from an age of affluent
gentility. It features reversible seat and supportive back cushions with a
high yet graceful camel-back profile. Back and seat cushions are filled with

Vale’s Power Recliners combine the best in
recliner mechanisms, with the latest technological
advances in battery and motor design. The power
recliner mechanisms available in all of ValeBridgecraft recliners are ‘zero wall’ systems,
allowing the recliners to be positioned very close
to a wall, even when fully reclined. They are
exceptionally smooth and have a quiet reclining
operation, which is multi-positional, and elevated
footrest height for better circulation and comfort.
Our superb manual recliner is available in a
number of our ranges.
A sturdy Leggett and Platt action lifts the chair and
allows you to step away with ease. This design
also incorporates a multi-positional reclining
mechanism.
The recliners are created with a fixed seat cushiom
to complement the other items in the ranges.
The power pack allows total freedom when
positioning the recliner, as it is free standing and
does not require permanent connection to the
mains electricity. The battery is recharged simply by
plugging into the mains.
With a wood effect handle, positioned
comfortably within reach on the outside of the
chair, the recliner can easily be activated into
the television position. The chair can then
be pushed into the fully reclined position by
leaning backwards. Recliners are available in the

using hardwood frames glued, double dowelled and screwed.

You have a choice of either ‘Reflex’ foam seat cushions or Quallofil Supreme
seat interiors that are supported by a full steel springing system - ensuring
lasting comfort. The back cushions are made with Quallofil extra life fibre
coupled with luxurious feather bolster cushions give a sumptuous sit.
Chrome feet are supplied as standard but wooden feet in a choice of colours
are available upon request.

Bridgecraft’s Power Recliners
Bridgecraft’s Power Recliners combine the best in
recliner mechanisms, with the latest technological
advances in battery and motor design.
The power recliner mechanism available in
the Claremont, Chartwell and Malvern chairs
produces a ‘zero wall’ movement, allowing the
recliner to be positioned very close to a wall, even
when fully reclined. It is exceptionally smooth and
has a quiet reclining operation, which is multipositional and elevated footrest height for better
circulation and comfort.
The power pack allows total freedom when
positioning the recliner, as it is free standing and
does not require permanent connection to the
mains electricity.
The battery is recharged simply by plugging into
the mains. A full charge of approximately 12 hours
lasts for approximately one month with average
use.
Manual Recliner
Our superb manual recliner is also available in the
Claremont, Chartwell and Malvern chairs. With a
wood effect handle, positioned comfortably within
reach on the side of the chair, the recliner can
easily be activated into the television position. The
chair can then be pushed into the fully reclined
position by leaning backwards.

it is treated with care.

The finished furniture will retain its appearance
if it is treated with care. It is essential that the
following points are observed:
• Ensure even use of the furniture by rotating
and turning all loose cushions and avoid
sitting in the same places all the time. It
may be necessary to adjust the seat cushion
interiors from time to time if the fabric has
rotated and is not fully aligned with the
borders. Carefully undo the zip and adjust the
foam interior accordingly.
• The back cushion interiors are filled with
specially developed fibre. Remove all loose
cushions to shake and plump up the fibre
to retain its volume and density. Replace
the cushions then smooth the cushion cover
fabric.
• Regularly and gently vacuum clean your
furniture as dust deposits can cause fabric
wear and colour fading.
• Sharp objects can pull or cut the fabric fibres
and cause permanent damage.
• Excessive exposure to direct sunlight can
cause colour fading. Pressure on the fabric
will often cause creasing and pile flattening.
These can normally be remedied by regular
smoothing and cushion turning.
• Fabrics with a pile characteristic may show
a shading or creasing effect. This effect is
also referred to as ‘watermarking’, ‘pooling’,
‘tracking’ or ‘pile pressure’, and is most
noticeable on chenile and plain velvets. These
areas of shading occur randomly and are
irregular in shape and size. This is caused by
the change in the angle of the pile and may be
permanent. Whilst this may be accentuated by
lighting or frequent use it does not affect the
quality or wear life of the fabric and is not a
fault in manufacture.
Cleaning
• A dye for upholstery fabrics that is totally
resistant to wet rubbing has not yet been
developed. Therefore cleaning with soap
or detergent and water should not be
attempted. Damage will also be caused
by water absorbing into the filling.
*One exception to this is the Aqua Clean
range of fabrics. Details as illustrated.
• In the case of spillage, dry the fabric by
dabbing it with an absorbent clean dry cloth.
• To remove spots or stains a reliable cleaning
fluid can be used in accordance with the
makers instructions.
• After Sales Treatments. We are unable to
accept responsibility for fabrics that are
treated in any way other than in the original
manufacturing process.
