Program Guide - Fair Havens Ministries
2014 Program Guide Your passport to family fun this summer! Family Togetherness... Isn’t it about time? Life Changing Experiences to the Glory of God! Welcome to 2014 Family Camp! In your hands is your guide to an abundance of life-enriching opportunities at Fair Havens this summer! Our team has worked hard to create a summer program that will encourage you and your family in your life's journey. Fair Havens exists to renew, connect and equip the family of God in the splendour of His creation and we trust that your time with us this summer will make a lasting difference in your life! Over the past few years, we have been exploring the Treasures of God in the Bible. Last year we looked at the Fruit of the Spirit. This year we will dive into the joy of Knowing God through His Attributes. God is wonderful beyond our comprehension, and He created us to know Him and to enjoy Him forever. The programming each week focuses on a different attribute of God and includes a relevant Bible passage for you and your family to memorize. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to get to know God better! We believe God is at work at Fair Havens, and we would like to invite you to partner with us in what He is doing. Please pray with us that: • God would turn the hearts of people toward Himself during their time at Fair Havens and afterward. • God would prompt people - including you - to invest in His work at Fair Havens through a financial contribution and/or to become involved as a volunteer. More information on partnering with us can be found online at http://partnership.fairhavens.org (or scan QR code). We look forward to serving you this summer! May God make Himself KNOWN to you in new ways in 2014! Movie - Ring the Bell Sunday, June 29, 7:00PM Slick, big-city sports agent Rob Decker has it all. But on his latest mission to sign a high school baseball superstar, Rob becomes stranded in a small town where the simplicity of life — and the faith of the people — stands in stark contrast to his own fast-paced, win-at-all-costs mindset. Torn between these two worlds, will Rob have the courage to let faith transform his life? Sometimes the next big thing isn't what you expect. Jubilance Singers & Orchestra Sunday, July 6, 7:00PM JUBILANCE SINGERS & ORCHESTRA (Jubilance Ministries, Inc.) is a non-profit organization made up of singers and musicians of all ages who have a desire to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music, testimonies and preaching the Word of God. This unique worship concert will feature songs old and new. Come, worship the God of the Ages and find a renewed hope in the faithfulness of our Saviour! Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Ali Matthews Sunday, July 20, 7:00PM Songwriting is Ali’s natural passion blending mature and sensitive lyrics with evocative, compelling melodies that weave the “spiritual” into everyday life experiences. A Stratford recording artist, Ali Matthews is highly respected in both the Christian and the mainstream music industry. She has received 18 GMA Covenant awards including GMA Female Vocalist of the year and a total of 36 nominations. With her 7th CD ‘Tell Me a Story’, a collection of songs about hope, heartache and the power of community now released, Ali looks forward to a year of touring in support of World Vision’s Child Sponsorship Program. Movie - A Smile as Big as the Moon Sunday, July 27, 7:00PM A SMILE AS BIG AS THE MOON is a heartwarming Hallmark Hall of Fame movie about a special education teacher with a big heart and big dreams for his class. There are many poignant scenes about overcoming all odds. John Corbertt does a great job fighting for the rights of the special education students, believing in them, and helping them achieve their greatest goals. Showing a moral worldview about how to love, A SMILE AS BIG AS THE MOON is an uplifting, entertaining movie with a strong moral, inspiring worldview. It's a movie the whole family can enjoy. 6 Paul Turner Sunday, August 3, 7:00PM Paul Turner is the Pastor of Worship at Emmanuel Church in Barrie and a singer/songwriter. Paul has been actively involved in both music and Pastoral ministry since 1995. He has made several appearances on 100 Huntley Street and is a nationally distributed recording artist. He and his wife Angela have three children and live in Barrie, Ontario. Movie - Mercy Rule Sunday, August 10, 7:00PM Mercy Rule is a baseball adventure for the whole family, starring Kirk Cameron and his wife, Chelsea. Parents and kids alike will be inspired by the story of the Miller family as they learn life’s lessons of mercy, patience, sacrifice, legacy and trusting God. Co-starring Bas Rutten and comedian Tim Hawkins and written by bestselling author N.D. Wilson, Mercy Rule will teach your family what it means to be a "No Quit Family". Drama - My Eyes Shall See Presented by Laurie Atkins Sunday, August 17, 7:00PM A graduate of the U of T Conservatory, she has received scholarships and awards for singing and composing. In the mid 80's she began a vibrant concert and recording ministry. Laurie has produced several musicals based on Bible and historical characters. Last year she presented the musical testimony of Fanny Crosby. This year her presentation called "My Eyes Shall See" is a musical journey through the life of Martha, a workaholic. Martha’s encounter with the Lord Jesus goes from rebukes to seeing him as a friend, healer, miracle worker and Saviour. 7 Movie - The Grace Card Sunday, August 24, 7:00PM The Grace Card is a 2010 Christian drama film directed by David G.
