Presentation This first Symposium University Yamaguchi-University of Zaragoza has been organized in the occasion of the signature of the agreement for collaboration and exchange of students between both universities. It is the continuation of a long track of exchange of information and collaborations between individual researchers in both universities and it is expected to be the first of a series of symposiums aimed to reinforce this collaboration. The organizers expect that this symposium will provide an opportunity for researchers of both universities to share experiences and to find new opportunities for collaboration. The fact that the symposium is part of the 400th anniversary of bilateral exchanges between Spain and Japan, that reminds the long history of contacts between both countries, will be an opportunity to reinforce the links between both institutions, both of them having large historical roots and both looking to build the future. The Organizing Committee Miguel Menendez Victor Sebastian Izumi Kumakiri Acknowledgement Financial support provided by the Vice-chancellor of Research of the University of Zaragoza for the organization of the symposium is gratefully acknowledged. 1st Symposium University of Yamaguchi-University of Zaragoza Membranes and sustainable technologies PROGRAMME Date 26th Nov. 2013 Place UNIZAR, I+D Building.
