Last chance to sign up for Santas on the Run!
Time is ticking down to a huge festive fundraising event taking place in Bristol on
Sunday 6th December called ‘Santas on the Run’ and there are still a few days left to
sign up so that you can be a part of this fun event and help to raise vital funds for
Children’s Hospice South West!
Over 100 men, women, children and local businesses have already signed up to take
part in this 2km fun run through central Bristol. Caroline Bryant from Bath can’t
wait to get her running shoes on:
“I have only recently started running regularly having suffered a shoulder injury and
thought this was an excellent opportunity to put my new interest to good use and
raise money for a fantastic charity!”
Lynda Nutting from Cheltenham has a special reason for taking part:
“Children’s Hospice South West is currently helping to look after the grandson of
a friend of mine. The work that this special charity is doing is giving great comfort
during a time that to most of us is unimaginably painful. Anything that can help them
carry on with their good work feels like the right thing to do. Here's to a successful
Whether you are a keen runner or are just trying to get fit for Christmas, ‘Santas on
the Run’ has something for everyone! Each participant will receive a FREE santa suit
to run in, plus a goody bag and medal to take home as a memento of the day. Not
only that, but there will be plenty of hot and cold refreshments at the start / finish for
everyone to enjoy and to refuel! As an added incentive to take part, the money raised
from this event will help Children’s Hospice South West to continue to care for and
support life-limited children and their families here in Bristol and indeed throughout
the South West.
Jane Powell, Community Fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West says:
“We are over the moon at the response that we have had from people of all ages,
which shows how much people care about Children’s Hospice South West and the
work that it does to help support families with life-limited children in the community. If
you would like to take part, there are just a few days left to register, as I’m afraid we
won’t be able to accept any registrations on the day.
“I’d like to wish all of our runners very good luck and I will see you all at the finish
