Dear Candidate:
The American Board of Urology 2016 Certifying (Part 2) Examination will take place at the
Grand Hyatt DFW Hotel in Dallas, Texas from Thursday, February 18 through Saturday,
February 20, 2016. The hotel is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Registration will take place Thursday, February 18, 2016 between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. You
must register in person. At that time, you will receive your identification badge, which is
required for admission to your examination sessions. Orientation by the Executive Secretary
and the Oral Examination Chairman of the American Board of Urology will immediately follow
registration at 5:30 p.m. Each candidate will participate in two oral examinations, one on
Friday and one on Saturday. Examinations are given between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. each
day. You will learn when and where to report for your examinations at registration. You
may not call the Board office to request this information.
The American Board of Urology has negotiated a reduced room rate at the Grand Hyatt DFW
Hotel for examination candidates. The Grand Hyatt will fill on a first come, first served basis.
There are several other hotels in the area including the Hyatt Regency DFW which is adjacent
to the Grand Hyatt and provides a shuttle service between terminals. The following link is for
ABU examination candidates registering for a room at the Grand Hyatt DFW:
https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=13765890 (you
may access the link directly from the Board’s website at www.abu.org.). You may also call toll
free for reservations at 1-888-421-1442 and identify yourself as an American Board of
Urology examination candidate. If you book your room on an internet travel site or use any
method other than the link or telephone number listed above, you will not be included in
the ABU room block. In the past, candidates have been bumped from their original hotel
reservations due to the Hyatt overbooking and the ABU was unable to assist them. To avoid
this possibility, you must register and identify yourself as an ABU candidate as instructed.
This is not a letter of admissibility to the Certifying (Part 2) Examination. Admissibility letters
will be mailed in mid-December following completion of the practice log and credentials
review processes. That letter will include further directions and details regarding the
examination.
Sincerely,
MOC Coordinator
