S.K. Yee Medical Foundation Bursaries (余兆麒醫療基金
助學金)
Eligibility:
1.
The Bursaries shall be awarded to local full-time
undergraduates studying for the following curricula:
‚
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
‚
Bachelor of Nursing (BNurs)
‚
Bachelor of Chinese Medicine (BChinMed)
‚
Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
‚
Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
to support students’ studies including outside classroom learning
opportunities
such
as
the
Special
Study
Modules
overseas/clerkship programme/placement training/practicum.

The Bursaries shall be awarded only to students with financial
difficulty who rank within the top 20% in class.
Priority goes to those without other source of university support
and who have successfully applied for the Government TSFS
scheme.
Level of Awards:

A maximum of 20 bursaries of not more than $10,000 each.
Level of awards depends on nature of needs; applicants’ TSFS and
previous university financial assistance status and family financial
circumstances, etc.

2. Supporting documents required
a. The most recent academic results or class ranking
b. For TSFS applicants, a copy of the TSFS application 2009-10
c. For non-TSFS applicants, reasons for not applying for TSFS and a
completed supplementary sheet on
http://cedars.hku.hk/form/defersupplement.pdf with the relevant
supporting documents
d. For outside classroom learning opportunities, a supporting letter
from Faculty/Department, details of the opportunities, a
breakdown on the estimated expenses and your own budgeting
plan
3. Returned the above mentioned application and documents to CEDARS
by January 28, 2010 the latest. You may be invited to attend an
interview later.
