Welcome to the 38th annual High Country
Bull sale. Thank-You to everyone who has
supported us, your loyalty is greatly appreciated. There are no outside jobs here. Our
cows are the only source of income. Our
cow herd has been growing over the last number of years, more cows mean a better selection, but we
have not sacrificed quality! In fact I think we are getting more fussy all the time. We do very little A.I and
focus more on selecting herd bulls with the qualities we feel are important. Easy-doing, well tempered,
thick bodied, lot’s of hair and easy calving to name a few.
The charolais cross calves are bringing a premium and now is a great time to put a charolais bull
with your cows. The bulls have had “no creep” and are bucket fed a custom made ration to go with their
hay/silage bales that we feed free choice. The bulls are fed to last. They are also on a up to date vaccination program, will be semen tested, and delivered in the spring ready to go breed!!

Well here we are another year has gone by so
fast. Where would the beef industry be without you, “The
Rancher”. We leave 2011 with great things happening.
To top them, great calf prices, plenty of hay and lots of
water. Now is the perfect time to maximize your calf crop
and add those extra pounds. Introducing those exotic
calves at the auction market in the fall will put more
money in your pocket. Pay-weight is so important at this
time in our industry and the bulls we offer today, I feel,
will do just that!!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank past and present buyers & bidders for your continued support
and welcome all new comers. Please come have a look around the bulls in hopes you might see something that
you like and will work on your ranch.
Come early, inspect the bulls and have prime rib lunch. Plan to stay after the sale for a little socializing.
Feel free to call or don’t hesitate to come and talk to us on sale day. You can also view the bulls in their own environment ant time prier to the sale. We live just three miles east of town on township road 6-4.

No creep was given as calves, turned out as yearlings in mid spring on grass till mid November. Since then on
silage, free choice of hay and 7lbs of a bull developer ration (half oats). Given fusaguard along with other vaccines. The bulls will be coming home with delivery discussed before April 1st. It is highly recommended that you
insure your bulls before you leave today as a precaution.

Weaned September 21/11 Just 2 weeks before weaning, due to grass being dry, they were given creep feed.
Then fall shots were given along with fusaguard. Free
choice of good grass hay, silage and 8lbs of bull developer ration (mostly oats).

Our purebred herd is not pampered, but are managed the same as the commercial herd. If they
do not wean us a good calf every year they are off to McDonalds. This group of two year olds were put
out on grass for the summer from June 01 to November 02.

Would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone past and present for making the high country
sale a great success!
It was only but a couple of years ago when I jumped into the beef industry in hopes that the only way for
the industry to go, was up. In this past year we have seen record highs for the beef industry with optimism pointing the same direction. Times like this make the future look bright and our jobs look easy but
more important than ever we must be efficient. Cost of production has almost doubled in the last 10
years making this spike in feeder cattle prices mandatory. Our cattle must have aggressive traits in
vigor, fertility and conversion to compete in today’s world.
The group of bulls on offer today will make you happy. I work on a low maintenance program.
The cows, bulls and calves are expected to do their own jobs and are all available for viewing at anytime!
After weaning they remain in the feedlot on grass hay and silage. For summer they are turned out to
pasture being able to travel and do their work. They are brought in to feedlot atmosphere in October and
fed silage and hay. Late December they are started on 7lbs of bull grower ration that is bucket fed in order to expose them to people more.
The bulls are at the feedlot and I encourage buyers to come have a look at them in their home
environment.
They will also be ready for viewing at the arena early Saturday morning. Don’t forget to come for the
beef on a bun at noon!

Terms The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable in Canadian Funds at par in Pincher Creek, AB. unless satisfactory
arrangements have been made previous to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until full settlement is made. All settlement must be made with Southern Alberta Livestock Exchange before any cattle will be released.
Disputes In case of disputes, bidding will be re-opened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer
will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer decision will be final.
Purchaser’s risk Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as the auctioneer has said sold.
Announcements All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.
Accidents Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of the buyers and guests, neither the

Country bull sale consignors or S.A.L.E. assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.
Breeder’s Guarantee All animals sold are guaranteed by the owner. Any animal that has not proven itself to be a breeder
within six (6) months after the sale date, if in healthy condition may be returned to the seller at the buyers expense. The seller
reserves the privilege of trying for six (6) months to prove the animal a breeder. The seller at their opinion, may either return
the purchase price to the buyer or replace the animal with another of equal quality in full settlement of the claims. All yearlings bulls are guaranteed breeders if not used on more than fifteen (15) head of females and are at the full age of fourteen
(14) months.
Bull Criteria All bulls presented for the sale have met or exceeded these minimum standards. Yearling: Charolais—must
be 1200 lbs. as of sale day and have a scrotal measurement of 32 cm. Angus—must be 1100 lbs. as of sale day and have a
scrotal measurement of 32 cm. Two year olds: Charolais—must be 1750 lbs. as of sale day, Angus 1650 lbs. as of sale day
or an equivalent WDA of 2.3 lbs. All two year olds must have a current satisfactory semen test. All semen tests and scrotal
measurement have been done by a licensed Veterinarian.
Insurance Pincher Creek Agencies will be available to handle all your insurance requirements. We fill it is money well
spent. If any bulls are going back to the sellers, we strongly recommend they be insured.
