Congregation Beth Ha`Mashiach - Yeshua Ha`Mashiach Ministries
Congregation Beth Ha’Mashiach
May 2004
Praised are You, Adonai our G-d,
King of the universe, Who gives the
Torah of Truth and the Good News
of Salvation to His people Israel
and to all peoples through His Son
Yeshua the Messiah, our L-rd.
Shalom & Welcome to the 4th edition of Baruch HaShem Yeshua!
What an exciting time for CBHM, we are rapidly
approaching the High Holy Days including: the Days of
Awe (Yom Toruah through Yom Kippur) and Sukkot.
Attendance has grown steadily, averaging over 55 per
service. Our high attendance since Pesach was 71
attending! Primary membership has grown to over 64
people. On the financial side, Adonai has provided with
the Congregation giving between 2400–3000 per month.
As we approach the High Holy Days, we have many
opportunities ahead of us. This is a great opportunity to
invite our friends and relations, especially those not
knowing Yeshua, or understanding the mighty Hebraic
Root we as Believers have been grafted into. Please
make a point to invite others to these services.
Many in the Congregation have suffered from the
effects of illness; we need to continue to lift up each and
every person in the Congregation daily in prayer.
As we start into the fall months, we need to continue to
walk faithfully with Adonai, remembering to honor Him
with the First Fruits of our time, heart, and finances.
Many opportunities are ahead of us.
Blessings to each of you and your families.
Baruch BeShem Yeshua!

Saturday Havdallah Service
PAGE 2
We are praying about starting a Saturday Havdallah Service. This service would occur Saturday evenings to close
out Shabbat. This would be an outreach service to bring more people into the Congregation and to provide for our
members who cannot make Friday Shabbat services. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, but we do not want
to take away from Friday evening service. If you would like to attend on Saturday, please email or call. We would
like an idea of who we can count on to begin this new work. Please pray with us on Adonai’s direction for the future
of the Congregation.

Studying for Bar or Bat Mitzvah
Most cultures have a right of passage, a stage when a young person moves from childhood to early adulthood. In
the Jewish culture this right of passage has special meaning, as it centers on their relationship to Adonai and their
becoming spiritually mature. We know it by the name Bar Mitzvah (Bat Mitzvah for girls).
We are excited to announce that we are beginning Bar & Bat Mitzvah classes. Curt has agreed to teach the courses.
We have 3-5 youth who know Messiah and have indicated a desire to take this important step of faith. Bar (Bat)
Mitzvah is an important step as a young person becomes a full member in the Congregation and responsible for their
own Spiritual Development and walk with Adonai. Classes will begin shortly. If anyone is
interested in Bar or Bat Mitzvah, please see Cameron or Curt.
Contact Cameron, Jason, Dee Dee, or Kim for more information.
We would love to have you participate in the Congregation.
We feel fulfilled & happy when we are participating and serving;
that’s the way the L-rd made us.

CBHM & Yeshua Ha’Mashiach Ministries are evangelistically focused. We seek to share what Adonai has given to us
with others. One very needy group are men and women who are incarcerated. The schedule below has a list of
events in the southeast, with those Cameron & Dee Dee plan to attend. More information: www.lifechampions.org.

Monday Night L'Chaim School
Walking with Yeshua, Messianic Discipleship
We are planning to begin a Monday night Scripture & Lifestyle class in September. The study will be “Walking
with Yeshua” from the book of the same name by Derek Leman. Discipleship, how to study Scripture, and living a
life pleasing to G-d will be the subjects of this course. Teaching will be recorded and the book is strongly
recommended (cost approx. $15). The course will last 8-10 weeks. If you would like to take part in these studies,
please let us know so we can determine class size needs and materials .
Children’s Torah School News
Adonai has blessed us with a wonderful and large group of children at Shabbat. Recently we have had 3 additional
people express interest in helping out with Children’s Torah School. To better accommodate the size of the group
and the differing age groups, the class has been split into Jr. Torah and Torah groups. Jr. Torah is designed for
younger children from 4-8. Torah is targeted for ages 9-12. Each group learns about our Hebraic Heritage and
Yeshua. Exciting crafts are made (the felt Hanukiahs were great) and lessons learned. If you’d like to help out,
please see Dee Dee or Kim.
The planned schedule is:
? ? Jr. Torah will be weekly, beginning after the offering.
? ? Torah will meet every other week, beginning after Praise & Worship.
Torah Reading Instructions
?? Reading from the Torah is a true privilege and honor for the reader.
?? The Torah reading can be performed by either male or female members of CBHM.
?? Readings should come from the Torah portion for the week (see Torah Readings). There are 3 parts of the reading, Torah,
Haftarah, and B'rit Hadashah.
?? Select 1-3 verses from the Torah, Haftarah, and B'rit Hadashah to read out loud.
?? If the Torah reader is female, their hair should be covered. This is out of respect for Adonai, as observed in Scripture where
women prophesying or praying should cover their hair.
?? The Worship Leader will recite "When the Ark would travel" as the Ark is opened. After the Torah Blessing, read the selected
Torah verse(s).
?? The Worship Leader will recite the Haftarah Blessing, read the selected Haftarah verse(s).
?? The Worship Leader will then recite the B'rit Hadashah Blessing, read the selected B'rit Hadashah verse(s).
?? A short dissertation of the meaning of the verses may be made. This dissertation should last no more than 3-4 minutes.
?? The Worship Leader will recite the The Tree of Life (AYTZ CHAYEEM) “And when the Ark rested”. The Ark will then be
closed.
?? The reader may then return to their seat.
?? On the first Shabbat of the month, the Torah will be walked around the Congregation (Torah Walk). This is done in a figure
eight pattern. See Cameron for detailed instructions.

Don’t forget about our store after each Shabbat during Oneg. We have “Complete Jewish
Bibles” and many other good books on the Jewish lifestyle. We also have a couple of “Yeshua” t-shirts left
and plenty of stickers of the fish with the Star of David inside that was especially made for us. We have Star
of David earrings, Mezuzahs, and other goodies.
