NanoDays™ Demonstrations and Hands-On Investigations: Drop in and check out this educational program about nanoscale science and engineering and its potential impact on the future. 3:00 pm—5:00 pm Engineering Building 3 NanoDays™ Graduate Student Research Poster Display: Talk to a student researcher! NanoDays™ Lab Tours: (Must have scheduled ahead of time) 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm Reynolds Coliseum Stuck on Science: Turn in entries for this creative competition in Reynolds Coliseum. Duck® Tape Fun Zone: Come play! Shurtape® is sponsoring a fun zone to come create anything out of Duck Tape! Fun for all ages. 5:15 pm - 6:30 pm Duct Tape Challenge: This trial event is open to B and C division team members, alternates, or FPOWs. Limit one team of 2 students per school. OPENING CEREMONIES 6:30 pm—8:00 pm Presentation of the Colors Parade of Champions Welcome Special Recognitions Pledges Final Announcements Reynolds Coliseum At the Opening and Closing Ceremonies there are 20 seats on the floor designated to each team. Seating for FPOWs is available on the floor behind the team seating. We ask that additional spectators find seating in the upper levels of Reynolds. For the Parade of Teams, up to 4 members from each team should line up in the side aisles next to their team’s row. Thank you for your cooperation! 4 Schedule overview Student PLEDGE I pledge to put forth my best effort in the Science Olympiad Tournament and to uphold the principles of honest competition. In my events, I will compete with integrity, respect, and sportsmanship towards my fellow competitors. I will display courtesy towards Event Supervisors and Tournament Personnel. My actions will exemplify the proud spirit of my school, team, and state. Parent and coach PLEDGE I pledge to be an example for our children by respecting the rules of Science Olympiad, encouraging excellence in preparation and investigation, supporting independence in design and production of all competition devices, and respecting the decisions of event supervisors and judges. Our examples will promote the spirit of cooperation within and among all our participating teams and bring honor to our community and school.
