The purpose of this program is to mentor those young ladies who have an interest in someday competing in the Miss California Scholarship Pageant and promoting community service. The current Miss California and Miss California’s Outstanding Teen Pageant local titleholders will serve as mentors to the Princesses! The local title holder is encouraged to engage the Princess in any activity that she can, to make her feel a part of the year as she prepares for the State Pageant and represents her local pageant. Having the titleholder attend her school or visit her classroom, going shopping, exercising, etc. are all ideas of things they can do together. The big event at the Miss California Pageant is when the Princesses will have the opportunity to participate in the Miss California and Miss California’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageants, which will be held this summer in June/July. Each Princess is to provide her own dressy, solid white dress (any fabric) with age appropriate white shoes. The length of the dress must fall below the knee and above the ankle, as well as, should not have a colored sash or accents. The dress may be purchased or made from any style pattern. They are to have no embellishment on them. The Executive Producer may require additional costumes. Rehearsals during pageant week are very casual, so warm-ups, jeans, etc. with tennis shoes and t-shirts will be provided. We request no sandals, flip-flops or open toe/open back shoes be worn due to safety concerns. The rehearsal hall is quite cool during rehearsals, so some type of sweater or jackets would be advisable. The first night of the Miss CA Pageant the Miss CA Princesses will be singing the National Anthem. If your Princesses does not know it and has not practiced it she will not be allowed on stage for the singing of it. This is an important part of the show and we want the Princesses to look professional. A Red, White, and Blue outfit must be worn for this. You will receive an example outfit as the Pageant date approaches. Each Princess must submit a photo for the Miss California Scholarship Pageant Program Book (per the specifications listed on the attached Program Book Information Form and per the Local Pageant ED). There will be a section devoted to the Princess Program in the Program Book. The photo, all required forms, and the registration fee must all be submitted no later than April 30th, 2016. All Miss California Princesses, their families, and friends are responsible for their housing and meals during pageant activities for their stay during the pageant week. Information regarding the Pageant Headquarters Hotel with Miss California Pageant rates can be obtained from your Local Pageants Executive Director. They can provide you with information regarding attending any pre-purchased ticketed events during the week. Upon approval from the Local Pageant Executive Director and the Miss California State Official, you will be given during pageant week, your Official Miss California Princess Tiara. You may not make appearances as a Miss California Princess until you have received your tiara. We look forward to having you as a part of the Miss California Organization Princess Program.
