AKRON ART PRIZE
The 3rd annual Akron Art Prize,
sponsored by the Margaret Clark
Morgan Foundation, kicked off Sept.
6. The entries of 160 local artists are
on display in five Downtown venues:
1) 43 Furnace Art Complex
-Zeber-Martell Studio Side Gallery
-ARTWALLS at 43 Furnace St.
2) Akron Glass Works (106 N. Main St.)
3) The Nightlight (30 N. High St.)
4) Palladian Palette (30 N. High St.)
5) Summit Artspace (140 E. Market St.)
Visit the galleries and decide the
winners by casting up to 5 votes via
the NEW mobile app or the voting
kiosks in each venue.
First place receives $5,000 and the
honor of displaying his/her work in the
Akron Art Museum from Oct. 7-20.
Five runners up receive $1,000 prizes.
The Akron Art Museum is host for
the finale celebration on Oct. 4 from
7-10:30 p.m. Winner announcements
begin at 9 p.m. Entertainment is
provided by Percussion Discussion from
7-9 p.m. and Get On Up from 8-10:30
p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres are provided
by Acme Fresh Markets.
