Judge Knotty Brent Mr. Powerhouse Leather 2012
Knotty Brent (Brent Gannetta) has been
tying up boys since 2010. While relatively new
to kink and BDSM, Brent brings energy, irreverence and detailed knot work to the table. His style
combines shibari knots and techniques learned at
SF Ring where he presents a variety of innovative
programs on rope bondage. Brent has performed
in many bars in San Francisco and around
California. He also appeared in the Bound Jocks
booth at IML 2011 and 2012. Brent is Mr. Powerhouse Leather 2012 and first runner-up for both
Mr. San Francisco Leather 2012 and American
Leatherman 2012. He has volunteered for countless fundraisers and Leather events and loves to
share his craft with others. In addition to rope and
all things gray hanky, Brent is well-versed in the
ways of the red, yellow and houndstooth hankies.
When not hanging men from the rafters and
wiring up their bits to fiendish devices (with consent, of course), he can be found spending time
with his partner (and often demo bottom) Eddie,
or watching Transformers cartoons.
Judge Shawn Holman Seattle Leather Daddy 2011
Shawn Holman’s first introduction to
leather was when a friend talked him into
going on an epic road trip from Salt Lake City
to Denver, CO to see the Rocky Mountain
Regional Drummer contest. This naturally led
to him dating and being mentored by one of
the contestants. Shawn enjoyed the anonymity
of living on the periphery of Seattle’s leather
community until a friend gave him a nudge to
take on a more visible role.
Shawn proudly served as Seattle Leather
Daddy 2011 and continues to be active in the
Seattle community, serving on the board of
Seattle Men in Leather. Shawn has a fetish for
wearing leather and enjoys the camaraderie
and fraternity of the men’s leather community.
Shawn lives with his partner Joel and enjoys
movies, books, plays, listening to podcasts, musical theater, knitting and terrarium building in
his spare time.
Judge Alexander Mentele Mr. Gay Seattle 2012
Alexander has worked extensively with community organizations, including the Imperial Court
of Seattle, as Mr. Gay Seattle, Seattle Men In Leather,
the Sister’s of Perpetual Indulgence the Abbey of
St. Joan (Seattle) and the Abbey of the Long Cedar
Canoe (Vancouver, BC), LifeLong AIDS Alliance,
Gay City Health, the Trevor Project, Out & Equal,
the Human Rights Campaign, Washington United
For Marriage and served on the founding committee
of Social Outreach Seattle.
His most significant accomplishments include
organizing F##k With Pride, the Seattle Pride launch
party promoting a safe, sex positive atmosphere
for Seattle Pride weekend and benefit for Gay City
Health; collaborating on projects that collectively
raised more than $35,000 in support of the efforts
to approve Referendum 74, and spending countless hours volunteering alongside other community
activists and organization in helping to secure marriage equality in Washington state.
Alexander’s ambition for title-holders of any
organization is for one to have a drive to work with
those outside of ones organization, to build longlasting relationships and promote a sense of value
and belonging for all within the Seattle community.
Judge Brandon Reyes Seattle Daddy’s boy 2011
Brandon has been a Washington resident, mostly in the Greater Seattle Metro area,
for the majority of his young and adult boy
life. He has been an active member of Seattle
Men In Leather for several years, appreciating
the camaraderie, activities and principles of
the leather community, taking special interest
in the fundraisers to give back to the community. Brandon proudly served as Seattle
Daddy’s boy 2011 and is proud to have raised
impressive funds for Chicken Soup Brigade.
He now serves as a Member-at-Large in the
Seattle Men In Leather organization and
resides as Chair of Invasions.
Judge Rick Rueben Founder, Bellingham Leather Men
I have been active member of the Northwest
Leather community for over 10 year and currently a dedicated member of SML for 3 years. I
am active in rebooting Seattle Boys of Leather. I
founded Bellingham Leather Men.
I am the proud reciprecant of the Leather
Emerald award in 2006. One of my main focuses
within the community is help provide education to the leather community through my work
with Tribal Instinct. I love hot leather bears as a
sideline.
Judge Ruin Unleashed International Community Bootblack 2012
Ruin has been kinky for as long as she
remembers. Her exploration of BDSM began in
Los Angeles, but it wasn’t until she moved to Seattle, joined the Center for Sex Positive Culture,
and discovered the Leather community that she
blossomed into the wicked sadomasochist she is
today. Her interests run the gamut, but her first
loves remain bondage, blood, beatings, and of
course, boots.
A proud Leathergirl, Ruin is also a passionate educator, offering a wide variety of classes,
from yoga to strip-tease to D/s to leathercare.
Ruin is a Full Member with Seattle girls of
Leather, Northwest Community Bootblack 2012,
and International Community Bootblack 2012.

When I reflect on my 14+ months of being the Northwest
Community Bootblack, I realize it was a title year steeped in
learning, growth, and acceptance. It was also a time of great
trust — trusting my Leather community, and trusting myself.
While that may sound very earnest and weighty, my NWCBB
year did have many light-hearted, raucous, and thrilling
moments, as well as a multitude of unforgettable people. And
speaking of unforgettable people...
For their constant support, thank you to: Generic Leather
Productions of Washington, The Cuff, the Center for Sex Positive
Culture, Doghouse Leathers, Wild At Heart, Seattle girls of
Leather, and Blackout Leather Productions.
And the deepest of gratitude: to Daddy Jeff, for always making
me feel welcome; to Sir Hugh, for showing me it’s okay to be
real; to Gene, for letting me know, title or not, I am loved; to Les
and Rick, for giving me a home in Portland; to McG, for keeping
me on track; to kd, for being someone to emulate; to Dylan, for
going above and beyond; to Bug and Nick, for coaching me in the
11th hour; to my teacher, Diamond Jack, for getting me started;
to Leatherboy Dan, who time and time and time again touched
me with his generosity and thoughtfulness; to LeatherSIR Jim,
for shaping a
very green
child into a
proud Leather
titleholder;
and to my Sir,
for always
believing in
me, for never
letting me
give up, even
when it was
WTF hard.
(“We will do
battle… and
also love.”)

Master of Ceremonies Daddy Tony San Francisco Leather Daddy XX
Tony Koester, also known as “Daddy Tony”
or #DFT to some, proudly holds the title of San
Francisco Leather Daddy XX.
After 16 wonderful years in San Francisco,
Tony relocated to Bellevue last year with the love
of his life, His boy, Mikey. He was involved with
several Bay Area organizations including AIDS
Emergency Fund, Leathermen’s Discussion Group,
The 15 Association and The STOP AIDS Project
where he worked directly with the Leather Community as a Program Coordinator. For over 13
years, he flogged, spanked and tied up boys at Up
Your Alley Street Fair, as part of the education and
outreach booth for the STOP AIDS Project, and
has only attended the fair as an “attendee” twice.
He’s often heard saying “My life does not suck”
When he’s not in his Leathers, he can be found
pursuing his other passion, performing Stand Up
Comedy, He loves an opportunity to bring these
two facets of his life together by doing such things
as he is doing tonight. He is currently the co-host
of a new fun, kinky Podcast called “NoSafeWord
coming soon to an iTunes store near you. Where
along with his Leather Brother, Sparky, they cover
an assortment of topics relating to the LeatherKink-Fetish community, while keeping it light and
funny.. because ya know.. sexy can be funny too! :)
Master of Ceremonies boy Mikey SF Leather Daddy’s boy XXVII
boy Mikey Shirts (SF Leather Daddy’s
boy XXVII) is happy to be back home in the
Pacific Northwest with his Sir, Daddy Tony
Koester, after moving from Seattle to San
Francisco 5 years ago.
While living in San Francisco, boy Mikey
was an active member of the community, and
alongside Daddy Tony, assisted with countless
community events and was a volunteer with
STOP AIDS Project.
A self-described ‘kinky-nerd’, boy Mikey
also loves technology and video games, and is
always looking for creative ways to combine
the two.
Know as ‘@bndgkid’ online, he is currently a contributor for NoSafeWord and has
a website/blog at GuysTiedUp.com
Performer DonnaTella Howe Miss Gay Seattle XLVIII
DonnaTella Howe: DonnaTella Howe is
one of the central cast members of the Lashes
Cabaret show at RPlace. She has been a full time
cast member of their weekend show since 2008.
DonnaTella is also currently acting as assistant
for Chablis and guest performer booking for
Lashes. Her hosting ability came about while
working as assistant for MoM, running her
Mothers Day and birthday tribute shows and the
occasional WET night at RPlace. Between the
looks her mama gave her, some MAC, lessons
on how to wear it courtesy of Sharon Huzbenz
and some well chosen outfits, DonnaTella has
become RPlace’s own ‘pole girl’ and weekend
seductress. As of November 2011, Donnatella is
reigning as Miss Gay Seattle XLVIII representing
her community throughout Western Washington, Canada and Oregon and has expanded her
appearances and performances to wherever she
is needed to support the community. XOXO
Performer Jim Drew & Jean Hardy
Jim Drew served as Seattle Leather Daddy 2004 and Northwest LeatherSIR 2012. Jean Hardy
served as Seattle Daddy’s Boy 2010 and is the new Northwest Leatherboy 2013. They are pleased to
provide stage fantasy entertainment for this year’s contest and promise it won’t involve ice cream.
They know this disappoints some of you. (Photo courtesy of Malixe.)
This past year has been a lot of fun, starting with the regional
contest — and a sticky, messy fantasy that people will remember
— all the way to the International contest in San Francisco, where
I placed 3rd. Plus all the trips along the way: another five trips to
San Francisco (including a 1900-mile ride on the scooter), four
trips to Portland, three to Palm Springs, two to Vancouver, plus
Washington DC, New Orleans, Anchorage, Richland, & Houston.
When they speak of a title year as a “crucible”, it isn’t about
burning away the impurities, it is about refining what is of value,
making it into something of greater value. At least that is what I
have felt, with the quest for the International title encouraging
me focus on who I am as a leatherman and think about where I
want to be in leather in the future.
I can’t thank everyone, of course, but… Hugh, Alan, Jean, Danny,
Malixe, Jeff, Graves, Cliff, Ryan, Danelle, Michael, Steven, Reid,
Thom, Mitch, Doug, Bill, Hobbit, Spencer, Tom, Sarha, John,
Monique, Kurt, Gadget, Jan, Walt, Darian, Nathan, Bethie, Colby,
Nyx, Spencer, Rich, Richard,… And Alameda County Leather
Corps, Northwest Bears, Rain Country Dance Association, and
Seattle Men in Leather. With extra special thanks for support
through the year to Generic Leather Productions of Washington.
And my Sash
Black Ruin
and title boy
Dan, who
ensured that
this was a
monster
year for me!
Photos by Seattle girls of Leather and Malixe
This last year has been filled with unexpected surprises. A
friend who became my Sir, a young lady who came to be one of
my dearest friends, and a community that AGAIN has endeared
itself to me and made me proud to represent an aspect of it for
all to see. I have travelled some over the last year, not as much
as my Sir has, and while I have made new friends, the long time
ones stood by me and helped where they could. Thank you all
for your support, guidance, and friendship.
For the new title team, please feel free to open up and ask for
help if you feel you need it. I will be here for you and look
forward to seeing where the title goes from here. I won’t try to
thank everyone individually as it may offend someone if they are
forgotten, but there are a few I feel cannot go unmentioned The
members of GLPW, gratitude and appreciation fall short of how
I feel for the support you gave during the last year. You all
helped to make this year memorable. Daddy Jeff and Doghouse
Leathers, without your support, where would we be today?
Thank you.
Now enough with the sappy crap. We’re here to enjoy a contest
and watch as three outstanding men complete their title years
with a bang! I toast Ryan, Damien, and Daddy Jeff on what looks
like from my
angle a very
memorable
year. Enjoy
the evening
and…
HAVE FUN!
