the ultimate starski chalet
Perched on the hillside above the friendly village of Montriond which is
linked to Morzine, our chalet has magnificent views of the Morzine
valley and being south-facing, it benefits from day-long sunshine. It is
perfectly located to give our guests a head start to the Ardent ski-lift
which gives swift access to Avoriaz and some of the best skiing in the
Porte du Soleil. The chalet sleeps 14 people with all the necessaries to
create a luxury ski holiday for all of our guests. We have also had a
luxurious outdoor hottub and in-chalet bar installed.

It has been designed with every comfort in mind and comprises 7 ensuite twin/double bedrooms. Two of the ground floor rooms would be
ideally suited for families, as they are set apart from the third room.
Also on the ground floor is a ski and boot room with entrance for
guests leaving for and returning from skiing.
On the middle floor guests are welcomed in a roomy and cosy porch
area, where they can remove outdoor clothing in comfort before
entering the chalet. A hall leads to the large L-shaped lounge which
firstfloor
has stylish comfortable sofas and armchairs surrounding the open
fireplace, with fabulous views from the full length sliding glass doors
which lead onto the balcony. In one corner is your very own fully
stocked bar with a wide range of specialist whiskies, spirits,
champagne and extensive wine list. There is also Sky TV video/DVD
and stereo for the enjoyment of guests. For those needing to catch up
on their email we have wireless internet throughout the whole chalet.
Breakfast and delicious evening meals are served in the comfortable
topfloor
dining room. Full length sliding glass doors can be opened to let in
fresh air on warmer days and access to the large balcony and garden
for al-fresco dining and barbecues in fine spring weather.
On the top floor there are four en-suite bedrooms all of which can be
twins or doubles. Each has ample wardrobe space, a spacious
bathroom with either a bath or power shower and heated towel rail,
and the front rooms have balconies with panoramic views.

The chalet is finished to a very high standard, with under-floor heating on the
ground and first levels. The top floor is carpeted and heated by convection
heaters for maximum warmth. Soft furnishings throughout have been handpicked by our interior designer for a cosy and stylish finish. There is ample
hot water for the whole chalet.
The outside of the chalet is as beautiful as the inside, with thoughtfully
designed woodwork and masonry. Chalet Etoile Filante promises to be a very
special chalet our guests will want to return to year after year.

We will serve you amazing local specialities along with other specially chosen
menus. Our policy is to use local produce wherever possible and to make sure
that the superb food served to you is a memorable part of your holiday. Six
nights of the week we will serve 4 courses along with a selection of fine
wines. After dinner we will provide coffee and after dinner chocolates in the
lounge where you can also enjoy a drink from our bar.
We will be delighted to phone you prior to your holiday to discuss any
particular requirements. Please note we are happy to cater for any dietary
requirements, but let us know well in advance of your arrival.
Breakfast each day will be a hearty feast that will allow you to fuel up in

Our beautiful starski chalet is situated on the sunny south facing side of
Montriond which is linked to Morzine. Our private in-resort minibus service
will whisk you over to Morzine and pick you up should you wish for a big night
out, but we think you'll enjoy relaxing in our outdoor hot tub with a drink from
our own bar just as much.

the world, and is made up of 14 French and Swiss resorts in the Alps. It
boasts some 650 km of piste in the winter and needs to be skied to be

Climbing from 1000 to 2466m, between France and Switzerland, its 208 ski

lifts will take you up to the 8 snowparks, 243km of cross country tracks and
650km of marked pistes that interconnect the 14
resorts ... all accessible with a single ski pass! Even
though parts of the ski area sit at a moderate altitude,
it's northern situation (the most Northern in France)
means that it often gets better snow than most other
French resorts which are much higher. This factor
along with the abundance of North facing slopes,
means the snow lasts well into May!

Depending on your ski-level, mood, the weather, the time available, the
possibilities are infinite and a week is not enough to get to know every hidden
corner. You can choose a route for its exceptional views over Mont Blanc
(Chamossiare, Mont- Chery) or lake Geneva (Super Chatel, Torgon), ski on the
Swiss side in order to examine the Dents du Midi; or opt for a day trying out
culinary treats by ensuring that gastronomic addresses are on your route.
Skiing
Take your time... 650 km of slopes, an enormous French-Swiss area, all this
requires an instruction manual. Check out the discovery circuit guide. Circuits
(that take 2h 30 mins approx) organised according to ski levels have been
designed to give you easy access. You'll recognise the itineries (blue runs, red
or black). Each circuit is marked by a mountain animal. Head off following the
bear, rabbit, jackdaw, ibex or reindeer and enjoy the show, it's worth the effort!
Snowboarding
The Portes de Soleil was the first area to recognise Snowboarding as a proper
winter sport and put in one of the first parks in Europe. Since then it has gone
out of its way to provide some of the best parks around and produce some of
the worlds best riders who frequent them. The off-piste throughout the area
offers inumerable opportunities to get fresh tracks even after days of no snow.
For the snowboarders, there are 9 snowboard parks, each of them offering
something different, and kitted with jumps for all standards. There is also a
couple of half-pipes and a beginners park.

shown us that those learning
to ski, particularly young
children, develop faster when
using an English speaking
instructor.
We are able to book all of your
lessons in advance for your
peace of mind. Upon your
arrival in the chalet an
instructor from the ski school
will visit the chalet to
introduce the school and
make sure that all of your
requirements have been met.
When skiing the largest linked resort in the world, it’s
very easy to miss out on skiing some of the best areas.
As part of your holiday, we offer 2 days of guiding to
show you the good spots for skiing and the great
restaurants, so that you can fully appreciate the size and
beauty of our resort. There is something for everyone,
and we’ll make sure that you get to the places.
