Alas, the final edition for the year 2009 and what a better way to close this beautiful year by pampering yourself to
the fullest and to eagerly await the amazing 2010.
Hence, in this issue we will be talking about the current healthcare phenomena, the SPA Massage. Literally, Spa
Massage is defined as the practice of soft tissue manipulation with physical (anatomical), functional (physiological),
and in some cases psychological purposes and goals.
By having a collaboration with Body Contours, TRB is now venturing into giving special Spa Massage Packages to
its members, as a part of its Friends of Tanco (FOT) program. Members may indulge themselves into a total
60-minute relaxing session in one divine spa treat. Do flip over for more details.
We wish to introduce our new partnership with Hospitality Direct (HD) in this issue too. HD offers a vast selection of

Dear Members,
As the 4th issue is still in the month of Syawal and we are still celebrating the Hari Raya, may I as the chairman of your
Liaison Committee (DVVO & VSC) and on behalf of the rest of the committees, wish our Muslim members, “Selamat Hari
Raya Aidilfitri” and “Maaf Zahir & Batin”.
Since this is last issue for the year 2009, and again on behalf of your committees, I wish to update all members with the
activities carried out during the period under review and disseminate information which could be of some use to you on
how to maximize your privileges and rights as Tanco’s members. Sometimes, due to lack of information, you are not aware
of your privileges and rights. This will hinder you in making the full use of the resorts and other benefits offered.
We have extended our Friends of Tanco (FOT) locally and internationally, in order to give members the maximum usage
of facilities in a variety of hotels and resorts. These include resorts in India, Thailand and Indonesia, to name a few. The
new addition of Hospitality World as an FOT will make available up to 2000 resorts and hotels worldwide. We encourage
members to make use of these FOT facilities by communicating directly with the Member Relations team for more
information and further assistance.
We are also in the process of carrying out renovation works to improve the physical conditions of Duta Vista Executive
Suites, Kuala Lumpur. These include wall paintings, floor grinding, new pavement, polishing and varnishing of furniture,
with a review and hopeful enhancements of the old TVs and air-condition units. Some of you may already know that
ASTRO services have already been included and that room refurbishments are ongoing, unit by unit.
The upgrading and improvement processes are being done in stages as due to financial constraints, we are not able to
do it in total. However, your committees and the Management are working together in ensuring the comfort and services
offered to the members shall be of the acceptable resorts and hotels’ standard. If you come to Duta Vista Executive Suites,
you will certainly notice some changes have taken place.
We are still facing the problems of some members, in spite of our appeal, not making payment of their long overdue
Annual Maintenance Fees (AMF). Your committees would like to make continuous improvements to the facilities and
therefore, would appeal to you again to come forward and assist us by paying your overdue AMF. We are placed at a very
disadvantaged position without your cooperation in paying the dues.
We also have established an affiliation with Putrajaya Lake Club (PLC), offering members F&B and water sport facilities
as well as venue for activities. The latest joint-venture with PLC is the Overland Trip of Putrajaya-Bangkok-PattayaKanchanapuri (the Bridge over the River Kwai), from 17th – 24th October 2009. I wish to inform that members have been
notified accordingly via email blasting and through web announcement at www.etanco.net & www.tancoresorts.com and I
am pleased to note that the response is encouraging.
We are also in the midst of having a joint family event with PLC, and hopefully the details can be communicated soon to
all members. The committees and the Management would encourage full support and participation from the members
once the event is finalized.
The current year Annual General Meetings (AGM) has been tentatively fixed on the 14th November 2009 for Vacation
SuperClub (VSC) and 5th December 2009 for Duta Vista Vacation Ownership (DVVO). The venue for both AGMs is fixed
at St. Andrew’s Hall, Duta Vista Executive Suites, Kuala Lumpur, at 10.00 am. AGM notifications shall be mailed out
accordingly to all current members (with no AMF default) approximately three weeks before the AGM date. Your
committees are strongly encouraging all current members to attend the said AGMs, in order to keep yourselves abreast
with the affairs of the Club.
Before concluding, your committees and I wish to take this opportunity to convey to our Hindu members,
“Happy Deepavali” and to remind all members who are going to balik kampung, to drive carefully and safely.

Spa Massage is the practice
of soft tissue manipulation with physical
(anatomical), functional (physiological), and in
some cases psychological purposes and goals.
The word comes from the French massage "friction
of kneading", or from Arabic massa meaning "to
touch, feel or handle" or from Latin massa meaning
"mass, dough".
An older etymology may even have been the
Hebrew me-sakj "to anoint with oil". In distinction
the ancient Greek word for massage was
anatripsis,and the Latin was frictio.
Spa Massage involves acting on and manipulating
the body with pressure – structured, unstructured,
stationary, or moving – tension, motion, or
vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids.
Target tissues may include muscles, tendons,
ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue,
as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs of the
gastrointestinal system. Spa massage can be
applied with the hands, fingers, elbows, knees,
forearm, and feet.
There are over eighty different recognized spa
massage modalities. The most cited reasons for
introducing spa massage as therapy have been
client demand and perceived clinical effectiveness.
In professional settings spa massage involves the
client being treated while lying on a massage table,
sitting in a massage chair, or lying on a mat on the
floor. The massage subject may be fully or partly
unclothed. Parts of the body may be covered with
towels or sheets.

A: You can make a reservation by calling or faxing your request to the Member Relations Department,
send an e-mail to [email protected] or make an online reservation at
www.etanco.net.
Q: How long do I need to wait for a response on my reservation request if I make an online reservation
or e-mail?
A: 48 hours.
Q: Whom do I contact if I did not receive any reply within 48 hours?

Q: When do I get a reservation number?

A: The Identity Card and Membership card will be checked for identification purposes. This is necessary
to avoid any misuse by unauthorized person from checking-in under your name.
Q: If my points are not utilised within the anniversary year, will the points be forfeited?
A: Yes, points not utilised will be forfeited upon expiration of the current anniversary year. Therefore,
you are encouraged to plan your holidays in advance to ensure that your points are fully utilised.
Q: What is anniversary fee?
A: The anniversary fee, or maintenance fee is the sum payable by members which is used to provide
and maintain the accommodation, the facilities and amenities at the resorts.
Q: Why do I need to pay my anniversary fee?
A: You need to update your anniversary fee to make your reservations.
Q: When do I need to pay my anniversary fee?
A: The anniversary fee must be paid 90 days prior to your anniversary date.

THE HOUSEBOAT
The houseboat is built on the pond made especially for the purpose. The 160

LIMA series of exhibition has proven to be an excellent platform for aerospace manufacturers and
related industries to display and promote the latest aerospace technology to senior Government officials,
both civil and military and leaders of industries from Malaysia as well as the Asia Pacific region. A unique

Due to the recent incidents with regard to the parking issue at Mar Vista Penang,
the Management has decided to temporarily freeze all reservation requests to the
Resort with immediate effect; pending solution from FAL Berhad, the legal owner
of the four units at Mar Vista.Member Relations Department is now in the midst of
calling all affected members for recent update and booking status.
Alternatively, members who have confirmed their reservations are strongly advised

Please be informed that RCI Vacation Exchange Spacebanking Privileges using
