UNIVERSITY POLITEHNICA OF BUCHAREST
UPB has a performing and modern material base: teaching
and research laboratories, lecture rooms with multimedia
facilities, computer centers with specialized software,
bookstore, library and stand book and the most advanced
computer center equipped with latest-generation
supercomputers.
POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest occupies the 472
place in the top 500 most prestigious universities in the
world (top SCOPUS ).
Romania is situated in the South – Eastern part of Central Europe, between Eastern
Europe and the Balkan Peninsula.
Located at the crossroads of major communication routes between the Eastern and
Western worlds, Romania has always played an important role in the geopolitical
stability of the entire continent.
The territory features mountains, hills and fields in almost equal parts. The natural
landscapes in Romania offer many opportunities for outdoor experience.
The most important tourist attractions are: the Danube Delta, the monasteries in
Northern Moldavia, the medieval towns and castles, and the national natural parks.
Romania has a temperate continental climate, with warm summers and cold winters.
The town was founded five hundreds years ago, and, at the beginning of the XX th century, it used
to be called «Little Paris » as a tribute to its architecture, its long boulevards lined with trees, and
its gardens.
In Bucharest you can visit The Romanian Parliament Building (Ceausescu’s former House of the
People) one of the largest buildings in the world.
Despite the extensive reconstruction plan of the 1980s, the capital remains a city of pleasant green
parks, with cafes and bistros along the streets and with small pleasure boats navigating on its lakes.

Most of the non-conventional energy sources
(solar, wind, fuel-cells) produce DC power and hence
power electronics and control equipment are required
to process the DC power and to convert the DC into
AC power.
Our key expertise is the design of power converters
and associated controls.
