about the tragic accident that claimed
the life of the writer's only son.
Twenty one-year-old Tonio is hit by a
car and taken to hospital in a critical

A film about the political
machinations surrounding a
handkerchief-sized piece of land.
In 2005, after lengthy negotiations, an
agreement was concluded between
Belgium and the Netherlands concerning the Western Scheldt. The river
would be deepened so that the largest
sea-faring vessels could now reach
Antwerp, and at the same time the natural world in the area would be restored. Nine years later the agreement
has still not been honoured by the
Dutch and an unprecedented battle of
opinions and counter-opinions about
the nature restoration project continues to rage.

DESTINATION BERLIN shows images from
the lives of immigrants and
a native ‘Berliner’. Though never '
at home', the foreigners say they
can make a home anywhere.
From my perspective as a foreigner in
the Netherlands, I have made a film
about the feelings of foreigners who
see Berlin as their home, but who also
don’t feel ‘at home’ anywhere. For the
Slovenian 'butterfly man', who lives
like a nomad, Berlin is also a hunting
place for insects. Two Congolese brothers struggle with the tragic death of
their father, a comrade of Patrice Lumumba. Eva-Maria, a pure-bred Berliner and once a fashion model, now
runs a fur shop in a poor district populated by many immigrants.

It takes devotion to teach kids that
are facing deportation. It takes
determination to teach kids arriving
from a war zone.
At first glance De Verrekijker looks like
a normal Dutch primary school. However, the boys and girls are all children
of rejected asylum seekers. Headmaster Toon and the teachers do all they
can to give them the best education.
Yet each morning they worry if any
pupil has been forced to leave the
country. After a series of deportations
it becomes increasingly difficult to provide the children with a safe haven.
The situation escalates when a group
of Syrian boys fleeing war arrive at the
school.

to reveal the mysteries within the
25 existing paintings of Jheronimus
Bosch.
Over the course of five years a research team consisting of art historians travelled the world, visiting
museums such as The Louvre, The
Prado and the National Gallery of Art
in Washington to make an in-depth
analysis of Jheronimus Bosch’s paintings. By using modern techniques
such as X-ray, infrared photography,
and multi-spectrum analysis, they
allow us to penetrate into the deeper
layers of the paintings thus enabling
the audience to look at the works of
Bosch with new eyes.

food provision but are chased off
their land by large multinationals
that only produce for export,
destroying the soil in the process.
Almost three quarters of available
agricultural land in Cambodia has
been sold to companies that produce
for export only. As this is disastrous
for local food production, the World
Food Program supports vulnerable
parts of the population with food supplies. In the meantime, the exile of the
farmers continues. Since 2003, more
than 400.000 Cambodians have been
chased away because of this corporate land grabbing.
