On 23rd June 2011 the International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards gathered 450 managing partners,
General Counsels and leading professionals of the legal field from over 40 countries. During one day, the participants
had the opportunity to run One-to-One Alliance meetings, to applause the best Law, Tax and Intellectual Property
departments during the International General Counsels Awards at lunch, and to celebrate the best independent
performing law firms during the International Legal Awards ceremony in the evening.
Leaders League, the organizing media group is a French independent information provider with an office in
Paris. Its main three fields of expertise are Law, Finance and Strategy. While a long lasting French reference with the
“Decideurs” Magazine, it operates internationally through Intelligence reports and international prestigious events.
The International General Counsels Awards 2011 were the first edition of a successful ceremony rewarding
the best European General Counsels and the best international Tax and Intellectual Property Directors.
In order to elect the Gold Award winners, a high quality and distinguished Jury panel of Presidents and
members of international associations of corporate and tax counsels was formed. The Jury made their decisions on
the basis of their personal experience as well as on the selective application forms provided by the distinguished
departments.
The International Legal Awards ceremony on June 23rd recognized the best independent law firms from
their domestic markets and countries within 24 categories.
The process to elect the best firms began 6 months prior to the event and engaged a panel of 130 jury
members composed of exclusively active General Counsels with extensive expertise in the respective markets and
countries. The nomination process was based on suggestions made by the jury and international rankings. In order
to establish the winner of the Gold Award, the nominated firms filled in a submission document which was
presented to the jury that noted the firms and decided the winner.
