You can track your daily food intake and calculate your nutrient intake from foods with Health Canada’s Canadian Nutrient File: www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/nutrition/fiche-nutri-data/index-eng.php. This database lists foods by both description and nutrient content to give you as precise as possible a calculation of the types and quantities of nutrients you are consuming. Although most foods served at fast-food restaurants are high in calories, fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, and sugar, some items are healthier than others.
