the best and most beautiful flowers
in the Netherlands. Keukenhof has
become one of the best-known
attractions in the country and one of
the most photographed sights in the
world. A design dating back to 1840.
The majestic trees and the pond
date back to that time. In the years
following, the Keukenhof Estate was
further developed into the present

displays inside the many Pavilions.
Many places for relaxation and
refreshments. After a colourful day
we return back to the hotel to relax
before we leave for Den Haag for

The second part of your tour is based in Feldkirch,
Austria. The medieval town of Feldkirch was once a
fortified town that grew up at the heel of Schattenburg
Castle, on an affluent of the Ill River. One of the cities
that best describes the beauty of this nation is Feldkirch
capital of Vorarlberg. The town is located at the
westernmost province of Austria. Feldkirch is situated in
a very steep and rocky valley where the river passes from
the Alps and into the wide-open Rheine valley. The town
is situated beautifully in the centre of the high cliffs and
forests which offers breathe taking, spectacular photoops of the town.
day 3 – zermatt One of the
highlights of your holiday as we drive
to nearby Taesch from where we take
the alpine railway (included) to the
beautiful traffic free resort of Zermatt.
Under the imposing Matterhorn, The
mountain village of Zermatt is one of
the great ski and climbing centres of
the world. Nestled in a deep valley
enclosed between steeply scarped
mountains, it is dominated by the
huge and gracefully curved pyramid
of the Matterhorn. On arrival, you
catch sight of the cobbled streets and
horses with sleighs patiently waiting
for their rides; you know you are in a
special place. What strikes you most
often is the silence. There are no cars
here. The only vehicles are electric.
You may also like to take the cog
railway to the top of the Gornergrat
Mountain with one of the best views in
Europe. (At own expense approx CHF
65.60 rtn). If you want to discover the
dazzling beauty of the Alps, you’ll soon
realise that the trip to Gornergrat is
a “must-see” excursion. It’s sunny

Gornergrat ridge a top destination.
Surrounded by 29 peaks rising to
above 12,000 ft and by Switzerland’s
greatest mountain and second
longest glacier in the Alps, it offers
a spectacular mountain panorama
second to none. Departing from
Zermatt, Europe’s highest open-air
cog railway has travelled up onto the
Gornagrat, since 1898. It takes 33
minutes of unforgettable pleasure.

Jersey by Air

The most southerly and largest of the Channel Islands has much to offer with its fine blend of the best of England and
France. Situated around its 72 km coastline are quaint fishing villages such as St Aubin, marvellous sandy beaches
(rated as some of the cleanest in Europe) and a collection of dramatic craggy coastal walks. Inland is just as rewarding:
fascinating attractions, diverse historic sites and gentle verdant scenery all linked by narrow country lanes. Festivals play
a big a part in island life and barely a month goes by when a local seasonal event is not being celebrated. The capital is
St Helier and whilst small, is a cosmopolitan harbour town and the main focus for the islands shopping, eating,

Welsh Wonders
YOUr HOlIdAY CEnTrE
Mold is a town in Flintshire, Wales on the River Alyn. Set on the north Welsh coast offering a great variety of scenery
with its spacious beaches and rugged cliffs, little fishing villages and secluded bays. It is the largest historic market town
in this County. The town has developed around Mold Castle, an earthwork motte and bailey fortress probably
founded by Robert de Montalt around the year 1140.
day 1 – depart for Wales After
boarding your luxury coach we

be porterage for your luggage and
tea/coffee and welsh cake's with a

day 2 – llandudno After breakfast
we head to the town of Llandudno
along Wales’ beautiful coast. One
of Britain’s finest Victorian seaside
resorts, there is always lots to see
and do in this little town. The long
crescent promenade, wide shopping
streets and sweeping sandy beaches
20
makes this the perfect day out.
Conwy Bay is also just a short drive
away, situated at the mouth of the
River Conwy. It is one of the most
attractive towns in Wales centred
around the gritty and dark stoned
fortress that is Conwy Castle. The
massive fortress was built in 1283-88
for Edward I and has still remained its
221 semi-circular towers which are
particularly picturesque when seen
with the river.
day 3 – Caernarfon & Portmeirion
After breakfast we depart for a day
out in Caernarfon. Situated on the
beautiful River Seiont, it is a town of
contrasts: a busy market town, a
major tourist centre, the county town
for Gwynedd and a major local
commercial and administrative
centre. The magnificent Caernarfon
Castle is one of the most impressive
and externally best-preserved
medieval fortresses in Europe. Built
in 1272-1307 for Edward I is has all
thirteen towers still preserved it
provides the town with a sense of
character and history. We then travel
to Portmeirion (entrance included),
a tourist village built between 1925
and 1975 in the style of an Italian
village. Sir Clough Williams-Ellis built
the village to show how a naturally
beautiful site can be developer
without spoiling it. After time to
explore we head back to the hotel
to relax before dinner.

German Christmas Markets
YOUr HOlIdAY CEnTrE
Lahnstein is situated among beautiful mountain ranges at the confluence of the Rhine and Lahn Rivers. It is the tranquil
Lahn valley as well as the hustle and bustle of the busy Rhine that gives this town its unique character. There are also
numerous old and medieval buildings showing Lahnsteins great historic past. Lahnsteins towns fortifications 1324, St
Johannis church 1130, Burg Lahneck 1245, old town hall 1540 just to name a few. From the Historic city of Koblenz, the
river Rhine flows south in majestic sweeping bends through the most magical of river landscapes in Europe. This is a
land of magical castles overlooking the river like a string of pearls and wonderful half-timbered villages snuggled along
the vine clad banks and steep valley sides. Some of Europe’s best and most popular wines are produced here.
day 1 – Home – Germany &

castles and wine villages, to
Rudesheim, where there are over
120 festively decorated chalets,
representing 12 nations, selling all
kinds of gifts from candles and
jewellery to wood figures and festive
foods, and there is an extensive
music performance programme.
Along with all this you have the little
shops, there is also Siegfried’s music
museum, well worth a visit (entrance
at own expense) or maybe the cable
car that goes over the vineyards to
the Neiderwald Monument high
above the town. There are many
Restaurants and Beer Keller’s for
your comfort. Later this afternoon we
drive back down the Rhine to see the
little Christmas market in the old
town of St Goarshausen (if it’s open),
we continue back down the river to
our hotel in Lahnstein.
day 3 – Mainz After breakfast we
travel to the beautiful little town of
