I write this letter just a few weeks Sterne School is a vibrant, growing community to which families, alumni, LD professionals, and friends contribute in varied and important ways. Sterne School thanks all of our generous supporters, event attendees, and advocates, whose contributions of treasure and talent enhance every aspect of student life at Sterne. These funds have fueled a growth spurt that set our once-tiny them, as far and as long as we can. The future is bright for them, and for Sterne School. Professional Development 0.4% Administrative Expenses 4.6% Parent Association, Interest, and other 1% In 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, the Board took a longer Development & Public Relations 2.4% Annual Fund 9% view of institutional Development, initiating a period of rapid growth which demanded investments outside Occupancy 7.4% Depreciation 4.6% Special Events 2% of regular operations. The Campaign for Sterne School (aka, the Expansion Campaign) is an unprecedented, Technology 11% multi-million-dollar fundraising initiative which provided Curriculum Expansion 13% Faculty & Personnel 25% “money to grow by” during these years: making possible the lease of the Valencia campus, the renovation of 2013-2014 Grants Sterne School is fortunate to receive grant funding from a number of local and national foundations. The following institutional funders offered generous financial support to Sterne’s ongoing programs as well as to the Expansion during 2013-2014. Sandy Foundation, Tuition Assistance the Jackson Street building, and major additions to the curricular and co-curricular programs at Sterne – includthese new classes and teaching practices. 2013-2014 Combined Giving by Constituency To support this growth and still “keep the lights on,” 2013-2014 Total Raised Annual Fund & Expansion Campaign Expansion Campaign Annual Fund & Expansion Campaign Gifts The Campaign for Sterne School: Great Minds, Thinking Differently launched in January 2012. As of April 2015 the Expansion Campaign has exceeded its working goal of $2,000,000 thanks to the generosity of the following supporters. Alumni in 2013-2014 Sterne School mounted an unusual Highest Gift Annual Fund Friends Combined Giving Campaign, incorporating the Annual Fund and the Expansion Campaign into one appeal. Annual Fund 2013-14 Faculty & Staff These Combined Gifts of money to live by and money to grow by resulted in over $750,000 raised between Lowest Gift Annual Fund ing the hiring of expert faculty and staff to implement Prospects/Summer School Families July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.
