Overview
IMPORTANT: All the clipart supplied with Aspire is subject to the License Agreement
shown at the end of this document. You must agree to this before using any of the files
included on the disk.
Aspire is supplied with a large selection of 2D and 3D clipart files. These can be utilized as is, to carve
the designs on your CNC or can be edited and used as elements in more complex parts. In this
document we will provide a guide to the included clipart, information on the different types of files
and how they can be used as well as a catalog showing you images and names for each one.
Note: If you are new to Aspire, the relevance of some of the information in this document may not
be 100% clear at this stage. As you progress through the tutorials and start to understand more
about the file-types and how the modeling tools function then you will be able to see how the clip
art discussed here is not just valuable as a source of excellent 3D models but also how the files can
be used as a learning aid and as a basis to create your own variations on the originals.
Vector Art 3D Models
110 of the models included with Aspire are supplied by Vector Art 3D, Inc. Each of their models is
supplied in 3 styles; A – Regular, B – Dished and C – Recessed. The A, B and C are indicated as a suffix
in the file names. You can see an example of each these styles in the image below. In the catalog in
this document we will not show all three styles but will indicate which models include these
variations. As you browse the models on your in a file folder or 3D Clip Art Tab you will notice the
Vector Art 3D models are shaded with slight darker wood material than the other models to help
differentiate them.

Vector Art 3D have over 1800 other high quality clip art models to choose from on their website
http://www.vectorart3d.com. We recommend the V3M file format for use with Aspire.
Note: When you setup an account on the Vector Art 3D website there is an area to indicate which
version of Aspire you own. By entering this information it will ensure that the models on the site
that are included with Aspire will be tagged. This means when browsing the site if logged into your
account you can see these files and avoid buying duplicates. If you already have an account just go
to the “Edit Your Account” option after logging in to turn on this option.

Guide to the File Names
The files on the disk are provided in 3 different file types, we have also used certain naming
conventions to help indicate files with particular properties:
*.3DCLIP
Files with this extension contain only 3D data; they can be imported into an active session of Aspire
from the Import a component or 3D model icon on the modeling tab or dragged and dropped into
the 2D view either from the 3D Clipart Tab or a file folder on your PC.
A 3DCLIP file may contain a single component or may be a group of components that can be
ungrouped after import to access its original constituent pieces.
-X
The “-X” suffix on a 3DCLIP files name indicate that it contains a group of components, files
without this indicate that they contain just a single component. The ones that contain the
individual components can provide an excellent teaching aid so you can see the individual
shapes that need to be created and combined to make more complex models. Some of
these files may need additional sculpting and smoothing to completely finish them for use as
a model in an actual part.
*.CRV3D
Files with this extension may contain 2D and 3D data; they can be opened directly in Aspire as a new
file. In addition they can also be imported into an active session of Aspire either by using the the
Import vectors from a file icon on the drawing tab (to import 2D data) or by using the Import a
component or 3D model icon on the modeling tab (to import the 3D data).
These files can also be dragged and dropped into the 2D view either from the 3D Clipart Tab or a file
folder on your PC. By default when you drag and drop a CRV3D file that contains both 2D and 3D
data the 3D data will be imported. Holding Shift down when dragging and dropping a CRV3D file will
ensure that the vectors are imported rather than the 3D.
Importing 3D data from a CRV3D file will bring it in as a single component. Importing 2D data will
lose the layer information in the file and bring it all in on the active layer.
-V
The “-V” suffix on a CRV3D file name indicates that it contains 2D vector data, this may be on
multiple Layers, so you should check the Layer Tab when opening these files.
*.CRV
Files with this extension contain only 2D vector data; they can be opened as a new file in Aspire or
VCarve Pro. They can also be imported into an active session of Aspire from the Import vectors
from a file icon on the drawing tab or dragged and dropped into the 2D view either from the 3D
Clipart Tab or a file folder on your PC.

Guide to the Folders
The clip art has been organized into folders. If you choose to install the clip art from the disk then be
default it will be located in your “My Documents” folder under a sub-folder called “Vectric Files”.
Below you can read an overview of the files you will find in each folder and on the following pages
you can see a catalog containing the name and an image for each file. The majority of the 3DClip files
when imported will be around 6” (150 mm) in their longest dimension unless indicated below.
2D Vectors
This folder includes a selection of 110 CRV files that contain 2D vector shapes.
Many of these are single outline versions of the panels and shields in the “Panels
& Shields” folder but there is also a small selection of other vector shapes as
well. These vectors are approximately 12” (300mm) in their longest dimension.
Animals
This folder contains a mix of Animal themed models in 3DCLIP file format. There
are 33 Vector Art 3D models (all three styles) and 21 other individual models for
a total of 120 files. A number of the individual models contain individual
components so can be imported and ungrouped to see their constituent parts.
Borders
This folder contains a selection of border shapes in 3DCLIP file format. There are
7 Vector Art 3D models (all three styles) and 10 other individual models for a
total of 31 files. Within the files there are individual rope line and chain link
components which can be used to create your own border variations.
Decorative
This folder contains a large selection of decorative flourishes suitable for many
traditional woodworking applications. There are 37 Vector Art 3D models (all
three styles) and 56 other individual models for a total of 167 files in 3DCLIP file
format.
Objects & People
This folder contains a large set of pictorial models. There are 20 Vector Art 3D
models (all three styles) and 51 other individual models for a total of 111 files in
3DCLIP file format.

Panels & Shields
This folder contains 90 panel shapes and 10 shields. For each shape there are 4
versions, one CRV3D and three 3DCLIP files. The CRV3D all contain the 2d data that
was used to create the 3D models (drive rails and cross sections for Two Rail
Sweep), all these have a –V suffix indicating they contain vectors. These vector files
could be used to edit and create your own variations of the panel. The three 3DCLIP files are
individual models that contain a variant of the panel with a different edge style, these have the
suffix: -i, -ii and –iii in the file names. In total this folder contains 400 files. These models are
approximately 12” (300mm) in their longest dimension.
Plants & Fruit
This folder contains a mix of models with different plants, trees and fruit in them.
There are 11 Vector Art 3D models (all three styles) and 1 other individual model
for a total of 34 files in 3DCLIP file format.
Ribbons (Banners)
This folder contains 12 ribbon and banner shapes. There are 2 Vector Art 3D
models (all three styles) and 10 other individual files. Nine of the files in this folder
are CRV3D files that contain not only the finished models but also the vectors
which were used to create the models. These can be used in conjunction with the
“E10 Banners – Drawing and Modeling” tutorial to understand how these parts were constructed
and could also be easily edited to create variations. These all have a –V suffix indicating they contain
vectors. In total this folder contains 16 files.
Textures (Not Tilable)
This folder is a selection of 60 3DCLIP files that can be imported and cropped to
create background textures for your designs. These textures are not designed to
be tiled so do not match if arrayed edge to edge but they can be imported and resized. When imported the standard size for these textures is approximately 48” x
24” x 0.3” (1200mm x 600mm x 8mm). The preview images for these models are blue.
Weaves
This folder contains 50 weave designs. For each shape there are 4 versions, one
CRV3D and three 3DCLIP files. The CRV3D all contain the 2d data that was used to
create the 3D models (drive rail and cross sections for use with the Extrude &
Weave function), all these have a –V suffix indicating they contain vectors. These
vector files could be used to edit and create your own variations of the weave. The three 3DCLIP files
are individual models that contain a variant of each weave with a different cross section profile,
these have the suffix: -i, -ii and –iii in the file names. Most of these models are approximately 14”
(350mm) in their longest dimension.

License Agreement
You, the end user, agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement. The Files on the disk are
copyright Vectric Ltd. and Vector Art 3D Inc. and your rights are subject to the limitations and
restrictions imposed by the copyright laws of the United States and international copyright treaties.
The term “Files” includes items with the file extension CRV, CRV3D, 3DCLIP, V3M and any other
format supplied on the software disk or as downloaded files from Vectric Ltd. or Vector Art 3D.
License Agreement
Vectric Ltd. and Vector Art 3D, Inc. grant you a non-exclusive limited license to use the computer
models as decorative or illustrative material that is included as part of, or all of a CNC carved part or
an object grown on a 3D Printer, produced for you, your employer, or a client. There is no limit on
how many times a model can be made and the finished part sold as long as each part is individually
carved or 3D-printed. You may not use any of the models in whole or in part to create a tool or
master-model which can be used for casting, molding or other mass production methods.
Files of national or organizational insignia are protected by various laws against misuse. Typically, all
logos, insignia, seals, flags etc. are for official use only. It is your responsibility to obey all laws
regulating the production and display of these.
It is against the law to copy, reproduce, or transmit (including, without limitation, electronic
