Predsedovanje Svetu Evropske unije v prvi polovici leta 2008 predstavlja za
Slovenijo kot eno izmed najmlajših članic veliko čast in izziv. Spodbujati iskanje
skupnih rešitev in odgovorov na izzive, s katerimi se sooča družina evropskih
narodov, je zahtevna in odgovorna naloga. Nanjo smo se pripravili z veliko
energije in zagona, hkrati pa tudi z resnostjo in premišljenostjo. V pričujoči
knjižici so predstavljeni slovenska vlada in Stalno predstavništvo Slovenije pri
EU, ki jih boste v šestih mesecih – skupaj še z mnogimi drugimi sodelujočimi na
projektu - dodobra spoznali. Veselimo se sodelovanja z vami!

The Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2008
represents a great honour and challenge for Slovenia as one of the youngest EU
Member States. Encouraging and motivating the European family of nations to
find common responses and solutions to challenges that we are all facing is a
demanding and responsible task. We prepared for it with much enthusiasm, but
also with all seriousness and thoughtfulness.
This guide presents the members of the Slovenian Government and the
Permanent Representation of Slovenia to the EU, whom - along with many
others working on this project - you will get to know quite well during the first
six months of 2008. We are looking forward to working with you!

La présidence du Conseil de l’Union européenne durant la première moitié de
l’année 2008 représente pour la Slovénie, qui est l’un des plus jeunes membres,
un honneur et un challenge. Stimuler la recherche de solutions et de réponses
communes aux défis que la famille des nations européennes rencontre est
un devoir exigeant et responsable. Nous nous sommes préparés à celui-ci
avec beaucoup d’élan et d’énergie mais également avec sérieux et réflexion.
