Jay Rosenberg (pictured in center) CO-FOUNDER Caroline Davis, Richard Kaplan and Jay Rosenberg began Worth with tenacity, friendship, hundreds of sketches and a bus that traveled across the country for fashion previews. WHERE IT ALL BE G AN WORTH NEW YORK WAS BORN IN 1991 WITH THE MISSION OF CHANGING WOMEN’S LIVES WITH BEAUTIFUL CLOTHES. 4 F iercely independent, Caroline has always believed in direct selling as a way to empower women by giving them the opportunities to connect and thrive. Richard is fondly remembered for his nurturing nature, his rallying speeches and the ease with which he made everyone feel special. An artist by trade, Jay tirelessly ensures every piece of every collection is made beautifully to this day, alongside VP of Design Diane Manley. Together, they craft the designs that define the women of Worth. Nearly three decades later, Worth has grown to a network of 1,200 empowered women. From the start, it’s always been about a unique approach to fashion that empowers women to live on their terms. Worth – rewriting the rules of fashion since 1991. 5 FALL 1994 Our first photoshoot shot by photographer Anna Palma. Our clothes come to life on models, giving our Stylists and clients a true glimpse of how fabulous the collection is. 25 SUMMER 1993 Scruffy Manley, our hardworking canine mascot, makes an appearance alongside our iconic cabana keys shirt, as we begin to infuse lifestyle into the collection. Illustrated by Glenn Tunstall. SPRING 1995 Our first brochure, photographed by Anna Palma, focused on the details we are known for – buttons, lining, stitching and more. Attention to detail at its best! YEARS of WO RTH SPRING 1992 The very first season of Worth New York laid the foundation of our signature, chic workwear. Here’s a classic look from the first collection, which was illustrated by Bill Donovan. 6 4 A RETROSPECTIVE SPRING 1996 Photographed in Old Westbury, New York by William Waldron, this is still one of our favorite shots. It also became our first Town & Country ad. WINTER 1997 After five years of designing collections, we hit our stride. Worth takes the busy modern woman anywhere for any occasion. Model Stefanie Raben is shot by William Waldron. SUMMER 1999 FALL 2001 SPRING 2003 Everyone went absolutely wild over this outfit (and the ad that accompanied it). Photographer William Waldron captured its stunning beauty on Stefanie Raben. Shot in a French artist’s studio in Chelsea, whose sculpture served as the backdrop for this stunning photo. One of our all-time favorite coats makes its first appearance. This shot, by Diego Uchitel with Kim Iglinsky, once again perfectly captures the Worth woman and our use of organic detailing. SPRING 1998 WINTER 2000 FALL 2002 Paralleling fashion and the modern architecture of SoHo, we collaborated with photographer William Waldron (who brought along his yellow lab, Pablo) and Stefanie Raben. This iconic look was shot in a modern Connecticut home by Fernando Bengoechea. The velvet and beaded look brings to life one of our tenets; luxury is in the details. Our first photoshoot with famed fashion photographer Diego Uchitel and model Kim Iglinsky. We loved the softness and sensuality of the lighting and texture. FALL 2005 FALL 2007 WINTER 2009 Shot in the Woolworth Mansion with Diego Uchitel, the opulence of our iconic “turkey feather skirt” meshed perfectly with the avant-garde character of the mansion. This is a flashback if there ever were one – this dress was the inspiration for our Fall 2016 Doubleface Dress, proving the staple versatile and timeless. Photographed by Diego Uchitel. Shearling is always on trend. Photographer Guy Aroch captured the luxury and face-framing beauty of this shearling coat favorite. SPRING 2004 SPRING 2006 WINTER 2008 Our muse of the season, Sarah O’Hare Murdoch, epitomized Worth and everything we stand for – modern, luxurious and alluring. Diego Uchitel captured her unmatchable smile. We loved the confident and commanding presence of our model, Eugenia Silva, in a power suit. Elegantly captured by Diego Uchitel in an apartment on NYC’s Crosby Street (that happened to be next door to Lenny Kravitz). A dramatic and showstopping dress elegantly captured by photographer Mark Abrahams against the iconic backdrop of New York City. 8 9 FALL 2011 WINTER 2013 During a typhoon in New York City with 50 mph winds, photographer Guy Aroch got this shot in the Financial District before being forced into a studio to finish. Photographer Josh Olins (who shot Duchess Kate Middleton for British Vogue’s 100th Anniversary) captured one of our favorite images with model Guinevere Van Seenus. FALL 2010 SUMMER 2012 Photographer Guy Aroch captured the confidence of a woman standing on top of the world. The house was built almost entirely of glass allowing you to feel at one with nature. SUMMER 2014 Photographer Josh Olins actually shot model Guinevere Van Seenus in the Fall, when the trees were bare, so every blossom was hand-glued to each branch. This might feel like Greece, but it’s actually in a studio in downtown New York City. Photographer Terry Tsiolis made it look and feel like we were away in a Mediterranean paradise. SPRING 2016 A lighter palette and sublime textures create a relaxed Spring vibe, shot again by Andreas Sjodin. Iris Van Berne and Elaine Irwin, our modern muses return. FALL 2015 10 We love the modern luxury and quiet confidence of models Elaine Irwin and Iris Van Berne as captured by Andreas Sjodin. One of our favorite shoots. 11 F a l l 2 016 I N WE W O M E N BELIEVE For over 25 years, we’ve witnessed the empowering and life-changing effect the Women of Worth have had on one another. You have to have the courage to say yes. THE CORE OF SUCCESS AT WORTH. Behind every successful woman is another woman, and probably a whole community of them. When your friends and family are behind you, it makes a world of difference. THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON I’VE LEARNED. Everybody gets punched in the gut and experiences tough things. And when I was in highschool, my parents got divorced. I’d always been very close to my father. The idea of him not living in the house was really traumatic for me. I’m grateful because my family gave me the room I needed and my friends became my rocks. I learned how important it is to surround yourself by those people who make you feel good about yourself, believe in you, but also comfortable enough to be vulnerable with. MY PERSONAL STYLE ICONS. Amal Clooney and Jackie Kennedy. 20 21 KELLY COLLINS P R E S I D E N T, W O RT H N E W YO R K MY PERSONALITY IS... Warm, friendly, outgoing, I like to make people feel comfortable and put them at ease so I can really get to know them and their needs. I’m a listener and a real person: what you see is what you get. I’m not afraid of risk or failure, and I’m very persevering. I want to make a difference, I want to be successful and I want to be a mentor to young women that they can do it all - have a successful career, be a wife and mother. TERRI Kelly Collins BORDEN SHOWROOM DIRECTOR P R E S I D E N T, WORTH NEW YORK MY DREAM JOB AS A LITTLE GIRL. Terri Borden SHOWROOM DIRECTOR, WORTH NEW YORK I wanted to be a newscaster a lot of my life, even in college. I always watched the news with my parents. And I aspired to be on TV to tell the world what was happening. I majored in communications and did internships at both television and radio stations. But then IBM recruited me during my senior year of college to be a marketing representative to sell mainframe computers. It sounded exciting. I got to travel. I learned a lot. I met a lot of good friends, including my husband. P E R S O N A L E X P E R I E N C E S T H A T H AV E S H A P E D M Y L I F E . BEST ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED. I come from a very strong family structure with two parents who believed in education, strong work ethic, persistence and determination. They taught me that I could achieve anything I wanted regardless of life’s obstacles — and there are always many. I have had great loss of dear family members at young ages, a daughter living with a chronic illness and other personal circumstances that have made me always believe that you need to stay positive, out of every negative there is positive one may just not know what that positive is at the moment. Whatever it was that I had in my head, my mom said, go for it. You can do it. What do you need to do it? You’ve got the brains. You’ve got the motivation. The world is yours. ADVICE TO MY 20 YEAR-OLD SELF. I would probably tell her to be true to herself and to take risks. You don’t have to follow one path. Try to get out of your box if you can and do what you love. Do what you’re passionate about. WHY I WORK FOR WORTH. ON BECOMING A WOMAN OF WORTH. The beautiful clothes that work with every lifestyle, of course! But more importantly, the company culture. From the top down I immediately loved Worth. I felt that the leadership wanted everyone to be successful, whether you were selling 100 units or 1,000, they valued and listened to each stylist. When I met Dave and Jay I was very impressed. The clothes were gorgeous and the company had integrity. I have known of Worth for more than 20 years as I have been a stylist and manager in the direct sales world. I came to Worth just two years ago. I started as the VP on New Ventures, which entailed working on the new Showrooms, recruiting for both brands and managing a team. I was asked to be President in April 2015 and have been in that position since. I ENCOURAGE WOMEN TO take risks . THERE IS NO GAIN IN LIFE IF YOU DON’T TAKE A chance . IN US. I started selling Worth part-time in Memphis, but honestly got serious about my business in 1994 when my husband and I moved to Nashville. Before starting to look for a job, I learned I was pregnant with twins. I couldn’t imagine job hunting with a high-risk pregnancy, but we needed a second income. Worth to the rescue! I’ve never looked back. I’ve had the opportunity to create an amazing business out of my home and still be there after school for my four kids. MY INSPIRATION GROWING UP. –TERRI I learned a lot from my mother, Caroline Davis, growing up, watching her run a business out of her home. She’s an entrepreneur who has created two businesses. I also learned from my dad that hard work pays off. He has a very successful career because he worked hard every single day of his life. I think we all have a very strong work ethic. M Y F AV O R I T E W O R T H P I E C E O F A L L T I M E . I have so many favorite pieces! I wear jeans pretty much everyday, so the Chloe Pant from a few years back were a personal favorite. They were a big hit with my clients, too. I think I sold 34 pairs! I have to say, I treasure my drawers full of Worth scarves and wear one almost every day. I would be scared to count how many I have! I love teaching clients how to wear them. Because I’m a child of the ‘70’s, I’ve really enjoyed the recent fashion homage to those years. I wore the beautiful palm leaf maxi dress from Spring 2016 to a white tie Swan Ball. I felt great! 24 TELL US who believed I N Y O U . #BELIEVEDINME 25
