Waiting for Santa
The 2011 Royal Copenhagen Christmas Plate, "Waiting for
Santa" is designed by Sven Vestergaard, who has taken the story
of Copenhagen’s first Christmas tree as his inspiration. It was a
young doctor and his wife who introduced the Christmas tree
custom in their home in 1811. The plate shows the tree and a boy
watching out expectantly for Santa Claus. The Christmas plates
serve as beautiful blue & white messengers of the holiday season
& embellish the Christmas time with their exquisite hand-made
