1. Course Description
Develop a working skill set of channel management, marketing information management,
market planning, pricing, product, promotion, and placement. Acquire skills operating Microsoft
Excel®, PowerPoint®, and Publisher®. Apply learning in support of DuJour, student store, and
concessions.

4. Evaluation Procedures
Letter grades are assigned based on the following scale.
A ≥ 90
90 > B ≥ 80
80 > C ≥ 70
70 > D ≥ 60
60 > F
Percentage grades are earned based on the weighted scale below. Each category total
is based on total points earned out of points possible.

5. Course Requirements
a. Student Store
Each student will be assigned 30 min of responsibility per week in the student store.
Timeliness and accomplishment of assigned tasks will be graded.
b. Quizzes
Each unit will have a quiz or quizzes preceding an exam. Quiz dates will be posted on
Renweb. All quizzes must be completed in consecutive order. Furthermore, all unit
quizzes must be completed before taking the unit exam. All quizzes may be retaken
indefinitely with no cap on points earned. The Assessment Correction Form (acquired
from course Instructor) must be completed before a student may retake a quiz. All quiz
retakes must be completed by two days before the end of any given quarter. Any quiz
not completed by this time will receive a zero.
c. Exams
Each unit will culminate in an exam. Exam dates will be posted on Renweb. All exams
must be completed in consecutive order. All exams may be retaken indefinitely with no
cap on points earned. The Assessment Correction Form (acquired from course
Instructor) must be completed before a student may retake an exam. All exam retakes
must be completed by two days before the end of any given quarter. Any exam not
completed by this time will receive a zero. No retakes on semester final exams.
d. Projects
Students will be giving various projects associated with classroom learning, DuJour,
student store, or concessions. Projects will be completed individually or in groups. All

projects will culminate in a presentation. All assigned presentation dates are final.
Students are required to dress in business attire for all presentations. For information
on business attire please consult class website.
Classroom Rules
e. No cellphones are to be used during class time. This includes looking at a phone to see
if a text or phone call was received. Consequences are at the discretion of instructor
and administration.
f. Only required supplies listed on classroom supply list are allowed at student’s desk. All
other items (backpacks, purses, clothing, food, drinks etc.) are to be kept in the back of
the classroom.
6. Academic Honesty Policy
Academic honesty is outlined in the Salem Academy Honor Code located in the student and
parent handbooks. In no way is cheating, plagiarism, or lying condoned at Salem Academy. All
occurrences of academic dishonesty will be appropriately punished. For more guidance on what
academic dishonesty is and its consequences, consult the Salam Academy Honor Code
mentioned above.
7. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
Any student who feels he or she may need special provisions for any type of disability
should see the instructor during regular office hours or contact the Career and Academic
counselor, Karen Haslebacher, to schedule an appointment. Mrs. Haslebacher will help
you identify and implement any necessary accommodations for academic support.
