Allego Role and Positioning: Charge Point Operator
(CPO)
 Charge Point Supplier that is specializing itself in developing, producing and selling hardware for charging
infrastructure;
 Charge Point Operator (CPO) with the main focus on realizing, maintaining and operating charging
infrastructure incl. B2B billing function to MSPs and location owners. May also include providing related services
to location owners such as investments in charging infrastructure or other chargepoint related services such as
smart charging solutions;
 Mobility Service Provider (MSP) that grant access to charging stations and thus offers services to the
contracted EV-driver. At the moment the main service offered by the MSP is transaction services between EVdriver and multiple CPO’s;
 EV-driver as the user of charging infrastructure and services, having a contractual relation with the Service
Provider.

Public AC-Charging in the Netherlands and Germany
Netherlands
Germany
• ~1200 AC-charging
stations in operation
• Win of all three lots of
Berlin tender in 2015
• Cooperation model
with ~80 municipalities
(Open market model)
• 140 AC-charging
stations, 1 DC-Charger
operational
• Citizens can apply for
public charging point
by Web-based process
• Target of 200 ACcharging stations and
20 DC-Chargers in
2016
Allego Fastcharging network Netherlands
 Total of 58 locations (06/16)
 50 kW Triple-Charger
 Mainly on or close to highways
at restaurants, gas-stations,
hotels
 Installed in 2014 / 2015
Fast-E Germany and Belgium
 EU-funded research & infrastructure project with installations in Germany (D) & Belgium (BE)
 221 DC-chargers in Germany, 37 DC-chargers in Belgium (deployment by Allego) to be operational by end of 2016
 + 10 chargers from enviaM (integration only) and 10 chargers from RWE (synchronization only)
 Studies on Grid-impact and Battery-Storage for Fastchargers (Installing used EV-batteries from Renault)
Project funded by EU Ten-T

SLAM Germany: Preperation for High Power Charging
 Total of 40 Locations granted
 Subsidy by German ministry of economic affairs
(BMWi)
 Sites selected by RWTH Aachen and Fraunhofer
institutes
 Sites are already equipped with 1,2-1,6 MW
medium voltage grid connections for HPC

High Power Charging will enable long-distance driving
Challenges and Opportunities for Allego
Challenges
Opportunities
• Build up organization „on the
fly“
• Huge market for EV-charging
infrastructure expected
starting with mass market in
next decade (2020+)
• Well-defined, structured
processes and stable IT „are
everything“
• Getting the right people
(Smart, EV-background,
pragmatic, self-guided) is
most challenging
• Need for High Power
Charging in all European
markets evolving
• Pan-European service
providers required by
customers (e.g. Automotive,
Retail)
Thank you very much!
