are great options to and from Big Bear!
Before you enter your homebound destination
into your GPS, be sure to select the route that best

a peak weekend, see Hot Tip below.
Hwy. 38 (through Redlands) is a scenic drive
that
offers fewerWESTcurves
than Hwy. 330.

Take the same routes the locals do!
Both routes are east of the ski resorts and ultimately
take motorists west, north and south as a convenient
way back home. Take it from a local, during peak
periods “East is Least,” and saves travel time.
EAST ENTRANCE
PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY!
The most familiar route for motorists
traveling
to Los Angeles, Orange County,
WEST ENTRANCE
San Diego, and the Inland Empire is Hwy. 330
(through Highland) to the 210 Freeway.
If you are traveling to the desert communities
or Las Vegas, take Hwy. 18 (through
WEST ENTRANCE
Lucerne Valley), which offers the least amount of
mountain driving. It is also the best route in
stormy weather because it receives less snowfall.
