OVERVIEW
World Energy Engineering Congress Overview
To celebrate the 38th Anniversary of the World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC),
was held in Florida for the first time in Orlando. This year’s WEEC was attended by more than
3,300 industry professionals from 48 states and 69 countries. The WEEC attracted decision
makers from both the public and private sectors and was an unparalleled event featuring 15
concurrent tracks presented by 300 of the nation’s foremost authorities in the energy disciplines.
The show was presented by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and supported by an
impressive line-up of corporate and government energy leaders and cosponsors.
The WEEC event offered attendees additional training opportunities including 12 intensive
AEE certification and training seminars, a Networking Breakfast, a Council on Women in Energy
& Environmental Leadership (CWEEL) Breakfast and Reception, free tours, an AEE Chapter
Luncheon, as well as free technical poster sessions and free workshops in the exhibit hall.
Attendees were also given the chance to network with industry peers during the Legends in
Energy Epcot After Dark dinner, luncheons in the exhibit hall, an Opening Night Reception, the
AEE International Awards banquet, and many other hospitality events.
The 125,000 square foot exhibit hall contained over 250 booth displays and featured a
cross-section of equipment and services for new and retrofit projects.
Other meetings during this 38th presentation of the WEEC, included the U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR
Industry Focus meetings which provide industry specific management tools and resources and
develop the corporate structure and systems to better manage energy and reduce energy use
within various industries.
Join us for the 39th as WEEC Returns to Washington DC. Plan to Attend the conference on
September 21-23, 2016 or the expo on September 21-22, 2016.

“The Opening Session was great with presenters from Duke Energy, Disney and Condoleeza Rice I enjoyed so many of the
conference sessions, it’s hard to even narrow it down to the top three. The location in Orlando made the event extra special
by involving Disney and the Reedy Creek Development District.”
“I really liked these presentations. Mostly because the topics were most applicable to my job function.”

“I enjoyed the CWEEL breakfast because I got to
personally talk with the speaker of Duke Energy and she
enlightened me on my question of solar within their
company. And I also enjoyed everyone I met throughout
the expo, because they were all pleasant men & women
who were very knowledgable about their products and
services. Quite the learning experience.”
“Chapter Lunch, gave a good update on
electrical production with nuclear energy.”
“I also enjoyed the tour of the Solar Project at the

Testimonials
“Broad USA’s booth participation with our local Partner VCS, Validated Custom Solutions,
was a very worthwhile experience. The location in Florida was also a great strategic location.
Our Absorption and Cogeneration technology while quite common in the North East and
California is somewhat “new” to engineers and owners in the southeast. By participating
and presenting during the show we were able to meet a number of energy engineers and
share that this emerging technology in Florida can be utilized to save significant amounts of
energy, lower CO2 emissions and provide resiliency to projects in Florida.”
Douglas A. Davis, Director of Marketing & Account Manager, Broad U.S.A. INC
“The WEEC 2015 Conference was the best conference I ever attended. It was well organised
in every respect. It facilitated excellent networking opportunities with all attendees from all
parts of the world. I was also quite impressed with the exhibition and the papers presented.
Equally, the conference facilitated the recognition of my award in front of a distinguished
international fraternity. I am looking forward to the 2016 Conference.”
Professor Zaffar Khan, Winner of the Energy Professional Development Award,
Latin American Region, 2015.
“I attended my first WEEC in 2015 and I was very pleased with the conference.
I won the Energy Engineer of the Year for Region II in 2012 and I was not able to attend
to receive the award. This year I won the International Energy Engineer of the Year and
I did get to make the trip to Orlando and attend the conference. I was also able to present
at one of the breakout sessions and I really enjoyed that as well. All of the conference
was very valuable and I hope to attend in future years.”
Jim McClanahan, Energy Manager, Scott County Schools/KSBA SEMP
“Overall we enjoyed our participation in the show and feel
it was a great learning experience for our organization.”
Yoav Malka, Orange Energizing Solutions
“Seems like this location attracted new faces, which is good for everyone!”
“I thought that Orlando worked out very well as the attendance showed, in our opinion.”

“Thank you - really enjoyed the international dinner at the Epcot. Was great fun and a fantastic networking event!”
“Great work AEE! Another informative conference.”
“Thank you to the AEE team for an excellent conference. In North America, we tend to be a little
complacent about energy (and water) conservation as there is, generally, an abundance of this.
Let’s learn from folks in countries where there is a scarcity of these resources.”
“Always the best attendees come to this event. See you in DC!”
“Always a great conference. Thank you.”
“Very well organized. Venues were first class and time was taken to recognize award winners for their accomplishments.”
“Very good experience, excellent organization. I will try to attend again in two years.”
“Thank you to everyone on the AEE staff! Your dedication to the Conference attendees
experience was demonstrated over and over again.”
“The energy management sessions were very good.”
