and conventional rod Series designed by
saltwater legend, Flip Pallot. These rods
load quickly and easily for accurate casts
to spooky or cruising fish. Built with the
hardcore angler in mind, the Mangrove
Series features our proprietary TiCr coating and Tactical Guides for the ultimate
in durability. We have also expanded
the Tenkara rod family to include the 8’6”
Cutthroat rod. Perfect for those narrow,
mountain streams, the cutthroat rod packs
easily for weekend hikes into the mountains. The new Padded Travel Rod case allows anglers to safely carry up to seven or
more of their favorite fly and multi-piece
conventional rods. Made from durable
industrial nylon fabric and high-density
closed-cell foam, the Padded Travel Rod
case will safely transport four-piece rods
up to 9-foot, 6-inches in length while comfortably fitting into overhead bins.

Years ago, Lefty Kreh explained his basis for rod design. "There are three things we can emphasize
in rod design at TFO........Presentation, Distance, and Lifting." Presentation involves accuracy and the
manner in which the fly and leader land on the water. Delicacy of presentation may not be a major
factor when targeting a species like tuna but it can be all important when tempting trout in a gin-clear
stream. Distance of course, refers to how far you can deliver your offering. In some situations this may
matter little, in others it can spell the difference between success and failure. Finally, in the fish fighting phase, the rod's primary function is related to its Lifting power, a critical consideration when a big
fish dogs you in the depths.
Of course, no one rod can perform each of these functions to its maximum potential. But at TFO our
rod series are designed to handle virtually every kind of fishing scenario you are likely to encounter. By
consulting the chart you can easily select a rod that features a mix of functions that is most suitable
for the kind of fishing you'll be doing. You won't be disappointed.

information. Normal rod repairs are completed in 1 business day, so you should be back on the water in no time.
On custom TFO rods, the warranty is limited to the blank.

For decades Flip Pallot has shared his knowledge, enthusiasm and friendship with countless
anglers in the pursuit of some of the most wary and challenging fish around the world. From
spellbound anglers tuning into The Walker's Cay Chronicles to those who have been fortunate
enough to share a boat with him, most all would agree that Flip’s experiences have enriched
us, made us better anglers and made us better stewards of the environment. And now he's
sharing his experience once more through the new Mangrove rod series from Temple Fork
Outfitters.
Built with the hardcore angler in mind, the Mangrove series fly rods utilize TFO’s proprietary TiCr blank coating, which helps protect the rod from the
occasional collision with a weighted fly, and TFO’s proprietary Tactical Guides™, which are braid and saltwater safe...plus they can't break or pop out
like traditional ceramic guides. The unique non-glare chestnut colored blank features a full wells grip with an instant rod weight burled cork ID system,
fighting butts on the 6- through 10- and 12-weight, and cleverly machined hook keeps on each side of the aluminum up-locking reel seat.

This patented design reduces the ovaling effect a blank experiences under load,

BLUEWATER
SERIES
The Bluewater rods use S-Glass for heavy lifting in combination with high modulus carbon fiber for exceptional casting
ability. The blank goes through the TiCr coating process
twice, adding power and durability. Components include
uplocking reel seats, Flor grade cork and a unique blue granite finish. The Baby Blue and Light Duty rods have snake and
titanium-oxide stripping guides; the Medium Duty and Heavy
Duty rods have ceramic inserts on all guides including the
tip tops and a continuous composite cork handle for greater
comfort. The Heavy Duty is now a four-piece rod utilizing a
revolutionary new reverse ferrule design which maintains the
action and power of the original 3-piece rod.

Temple Fork TiCr X rods are handsomely finished in a rich
blue blank color, Flor grade cork and an aluminum reel seat
with a cushioned reel hood. Rods equipped with a fighting
butt also have a channel lock sliding rear hood with double
locking rings and feature full wells grips. Six-weight and
larger rods get oversized titanium oxide stripping guides.
The 4-, 5- and 6 (lt)-weights have a reversed half wells grip,
single up-locking reel seats and matte black graphite inserts.

Imagine a two-handed rod and a 9-foot four-piece rod, both of which
will fit in a 34-inch-long case. Our conversion kit gives you two lower
sections designed to replace the single-handed grip on any 7- and
8-weight TiCr X. With a total of six rod sections of equal length,
you can now carry both a traditional fly rod, and an 11-foot 3-inch
two-hander for easy overhead distance casting. TiCr X two-handed
conversion sections include a full two-handed grip with Flor grade
cork and a heavy-duty knurled reel seat, large titanium oxide stripping
guides and a handsome rod sock.

Our proprietary use of titanium and chromium removes vibration and significantly reduces impact damage. Clouser rods utilize oversized titanium oxide

expertise to create the Deer Creek Switch Rod Series.
Switch Rods are multi-task fly rods specifically designed to allow a variety of both single and

Similar to the aftermarket modifications sought by car
enthusiasts and racing buffs who want the maximum
output from their ride, TFO is now proud to offer a
number of customized options to further enhance the
casting performance of a select series of rods in our
stellar fly rod lineup. The casting characteristics of our
production rods have earned the reputation of being
second to none. But, some of you demand even more
and despite the proven excellence of our rods there is
always room for further refinement.
In addition to cosmetic enhancements with guide
wraps, reel seats, and ergonomic grip modifications,
the blank undergoes a blueprinting process closely akin
to engine refinements in the hands of master mechanics. During the design process, the blank is subjected to a unique blueprinting operation where the energy output is measured inch by inch along its entire length. High and low energy spots are
detected and eliminated. The end product is a blank that is in perfect balance. Its mechanical efficiency has been tuned to its
absolute level of performance and that translates into a casting stroke that requires less energy input from the caster. For any
given distance the rod works more and the caster works less. It is pure casting efficiency.

The Custom Rod blanks are medium fast and silky-smooth to cast. They have just the right amount of flex in the tip to provide

All TFO Custom Rods are finished using our proprietary Tactical Series stripping guides. The highest
quality guide available, the Tactical Series guides feature super hard-chrome anodized stainless steel
inserts pressed into machined, hard-anodized, chromium impregnated stainless steel frames.
What does all this mean? Super hard, super slick, saltwater safe and no more lost inserts…and they
are 30% lighter than standard SiC guides.
Fighting Butt
You may choose to add a fighting butt to your custom TFO rod. Fighting butts are traditionally reserved for rods larger than
6-weight, but can be added to any of our custom rods upon request. Made from premium and burl cork, our custom fighting
butts are 1, 1 ½ or 2 inches long and can provide a distinct advantage when fighting large fish.

makes rigging a snap. It is kink resistant, bite resistant and super elastic.
Under load the wire will stretch fifteen to twenty percent allowing you to
