THREE VERIFICATION LEVEL
The Reliability of EPD Process is ensured by three verification level:
1. Database, LCA and EPD verification, made by the Data Assessor
2. EPD Process verification by means of:
a.
internal audit, performed by the Process Assessor
b.
external audit, performed by a Verification Body (accredited body
certified for audit of management systems)
3. Peer review on specific datamodule (e.g. data about cereals)

Reliability of PCR is given
by an public open
consultation.

Strong investment in Alignment is needed
PCR
LCA have to be based on PCR with an open consultation approval
Multiple system operator are welcome, but cooperation & alignment
needed: common PCR dBase & rules?
dBase
• Database rules validation with peer review
• Geographic area
Which Role for the EPD System
An huge work have to be done in order to define Product Category
Rules & populate dBase
Corporation are starting to develop LCA process systems
EPD System can have a central role in the alignment process But
quick response needed
