Message from the Chief
Horse Steward
2014 was my first year as one of
the Chief Horse Stewards for the
Narrabri Show and I would like
to sincerely thank all the
competitors and helpers, it was
well worth all the time and
effort spent to see the smile on
everyone’s face and to hear all
the positive feedback and I am
excited to take on a larger role
as the Chief Horse Steward for
all horse events for 2015. With
the continued support from
competitors and sponsors I
believe we can become bigger
and better each year!
2014 Supreme Rider of Narrabri Show Miss Brittany Aitken with judges Eileen Gibson,
Wendy Muir, 2014 Narrabri Show Girl Miss Sarah Jones and Wendy Manchester
Again, I would like to wish everyone a safe, enjoyable & successful weekend and look
forward to seeing you all at the 2015 Show.
Good Luck & Have Fun,
From Lauren.

RISK WARNING - HORSES - INDEMNITY AND WAIVER FORM

PARTICIPANTS UNDER 18 YEARS – TO BE SIGNED BY PARENT/GUARDIAN
INSTRUCTIONS: Please complete this form in advance. Additional forms may be downloaded from the website.
You must present the completed form to the Ring Steward upon Registration on the day of the show. One form per competitor.
Participants’ wrist bands will only be issued upon submission of the completed and signed form. DO NOT return the form by

valid for ALL horse events, including ring events, show jumping, sporting, team penning, tent pegging, dressage, harness,

you to clarify details, for example for provision of result details to the Royal Agricultural Society, or confirmation of breed
registration. Blank indemnity forms will be available on the day, but pre-completion will save valuable time for both competitors
and officials on the day. Use more than one form if insufficient space for horse details.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If horse details have already been listed under another competitor, there is no need
to list again, for example if someone else rides the horse in another event, so long as the RIDER has
registered their details on a separate form.
The Agricultural Societies Council of New South Wales advises that the participation, including passive
participation (handlers and volunteers), in events or activities at an agricultural show contains elements
of risk, both obvious and inherent. The risks involved may result in property damage and/or personal
injury including death.
1. I the signatory acknowledge, agree, and understand that participation, including passive participation, in events and
activities at this, or at any show contains an element of risk or injury and I agree that I undertake any such risk voluntarily of
my own free will and at my own risk.
2. I the signatory acknowledge, agree, and understand that the risk warning at the top of this form constitutes a ‘risk warning’
for the purposes of Division 5 of the Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW).
3. I the signatory acknowledge the risk referred to above and agree to waive any and all rights that I, or any other person
claiming through me, may have against the Narrabri Show Society in relation to any loss or injury (including death) that is
suffered by me as a result of my participation in this show/event.
4. The signatory must continually indemnify the Narrabri Show Society on a full indemnity basis against any claim or
proceeding that is made, threatened or commenced, and any liability, loss (including consequential loss, and loss of
profits), damages or expense (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis) that the Narrabri Show Society incurs or
suffers, as a direct or indirect result of the undersigned’s participation in any event held by the Narrabri Show Society.
5. I, the signatory, declare that the horses indicated below are in good health and to the best of my knowledge; the horses do
not need to be vaccinated against the Hendra Virus. I declare that the horses have not been domiciled in a known hotspot
for the virus.

TENTPEGGING
Saturday 2nd May 2015
Main Arena
MAP REF: I10
Tentpegging originated during the war
when the mounted soldiers galloped
through the enemy camps and
collapsed their tents. This allowed foot
soldiers to follow them through and
attack.
The Tamworth Tentpegging club
started 32 years ago and has had
many members over the years. Riders
that are competing at the Narrabri
show range from new comers who
have been Tentpegging for less than
12 months through to riders who
started the Tamworth Club.
For more information please contact
Kate Roser 0400068954 or email
[email protected]
The riders will be holding a team
competition, an individual competition
and a Rings and Peg competition
throughout the Saturday of the show in
the main arena.
Following each competition riders are
holding a ‘come and try training
session’ where people can come and
find out more about the sport and
have
some
basic
introductory
coaching from our more experienced
riders and Australian representatives.
You need a horse, $10.00 and to sign a
waiver form from the Australian
Tentpegging Association if you wish to
have a go (waiver forms will be
available when you arrive), or just
come and have a closer look and find
out some more details.
