THIS IS SOFTBALL Three consecutive Women’s College World Series title game appearances (2002-04; National Champions in 2002). The NCAA national championship in 2002 was the first by a women’s team in Cal athletic program history (the Bears finished the season 56-19 with a perfect 8-0 postseason record) Cal has appeared in seven of the last 10 NCAA WCWS, and ten overall, including three appearances in AIAW College World Series. es. 23 straight NCAA Tournament appearances - the longest streak by any Pac-10 school (second-longest in the nation). Cal has not had a losing season since 1973 - a span of 35 years. Overall program record is 1318-653-3. Diane Ninemire has won more games than any other coach in California history - male or female (932-457). Two California Athletics Hall of Fame inductees Michele Granger and Gillian Boxx. Four Honda Sports Award Finalists -Gillian Boxx, Michele Granger, r, Leslie Partch and Shari Fisher.
