About the speakers
Dr. Jonathan Radcliffe, University of Birmingham
Jonathan Radcliffe studied physics at Imperial College and Cambridge and was Head of
the Analysis Team for the UK’s Energy Research Partnership (ERP), leading its work on
energy storage and flexibility options for the energy system. In 2013 he took up a position
to establish a new centre for energy storage through the Centre for Low Carbon Futures.

Sven Bode was a co-founder of the Arrhenius Institute in 2005. He has a doctorate in
environmental economics of the University of Hamburg, has worked for Industry and
Ministries on topics concerning climate change and mitigation efforts. He authored
several expert studies on emissions and green certificate trading as well as on the
integration of renewable energies into liberalised power markets; his work was also
published in international peer-reviewed journals.
Director Magnus Korpås, Sintef
Magnus Korpås did his doctoral thesis in the field of wind power and energy storage. He
has led projects on grid integration of offshore and onshore wind power as well as
modelling, simulation and analysis of power systems and markets. He is currently the
research director at the Energy Systems Department of SINTEF.

focusing on the technical and economic impacts of high shares of variable renewable
generation. Prior to working on system integration, he co-authored the IEA publication
Deploying Renewables 2011 – Best and Future Policy Practice, which provides a
comparative assessment of the impact and cost-effectiveness of RE support policies in
OECD and BRICS countries. Before joining the IEA, Mr. Mueller worked for a technical
cooperation project in the Mediterranean and the German Government. He holds a M.Sc.
in Physics from the University of Bremen.
Director Audrey Mahuet, EPEX Spot
