P. Tyler Johnson
Mr. Johnson is experienced in a wide array of patent law,
specializing in prosecution of patent applications in the
mechanical and electrical arts. Mr. Johnson’s technical
expertise includes automotive technologies, consumer
goods, manufacturing techniques, materials science,
semiconductor fabrication, and telecommunications.
While at MIT, Mr. Johnson focused on thermal fluids,
systems and structural analysis, as well as design and
manufacturing processes. Mr. Johnson also gained
experience researching fluid delivery techniques for use in
an electrodeposition step employed during fabrication of
electronic components.

Sughrue Mion PLLC as a summer associate and, after
graduation from W&L, as a full-time associate. Mr. Johnson’s
work at Sughrue focused primarily on patent procurement for
domestic and international clients across a broad spectrum
of mechanical and electrical fields.
Mr. Johnson also worked as a patent examiner at the U.S.
Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent
applications related to fasteners used in diverse settings. Mr.
Johnson’s work at the USPTO regularly crossed over into
the areas of automotive technologies, consumer goods,
manufacturing techniques, and materials science.
