Terrestrial and Aquatic Invasive Plant Services
© 2012 M.HEDIN Spotted knapweed Purple loosestrife Yellow starthistle Terrestrial noxious weeds found within the Sierra Nevada region. Terrestrial and Aquatic Invasive Plant Services Invasive plants degrade and diminish our lands and waterways. Some invasive weeds threaten our native plants through competition for limited resources. SEA specializes in identifying, monitoring, and managing weed species, both aquatic and terrestrial. We perform assessment studies, prepare management reports and develop monitoring plans that ensure control of invasive plants and protect native plants and their habitats. SEA also has the necessary experience consulting with resource agencies on behalf of our clients to achieve optimal results. Lake Tahoe Aquatic Plant Survey, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency SEA completed the 2012 survey of Lake Tahoe for non-native invasive weeds. SEA evaluated near-shore areas for both native and invasive aquatic plants and created GIS-based maps locating non-native plants for subsequent control work. Feather River Parkway Phase I, City of Yuba City Sierra Ecosystem Associates Service Area SEA completed plant and tree surveys, recommended invasive plant control measures, evaluated wetlands, prepared regulatory agency permit applications, consulted with regulatory agencies regarding impacts of the project, and prepared the Restoration Plan for the project. Caples Creek Riparian Vegetation and Stream Channel Monitoring, El Dorado Irrigation District SEA wrote and implemented the monitoring plan for riparian vegetation and stream channel conditions along Caples Creek near Kirkwood, California. SEA prepared the report submitted to FERC and USFS when repairs to Caples Lake Dam were complete. Haas to Balch Transmission Line Biological Evaluation, PG&E SEA conducted a noxious weed survey, a rare plant survey, and prepared the Biological Evaluation for potential effects of the vegetation removal project and treatment program for PG&E’s 230kV transmission line right-of-way easement. FERC Project No. 184, El Dorado Irrigation District Since 2008, SEA has annually surveyed Project 184 lands and facilities on the Eldorado National Forest for noxious weeds to help the District comply with FERC license requirements. SEA assists the District with reporting survey results and trained District staff to ensure safe herbicide applications. SEA also completed rare plant surveys of Project 184 lands and facilities to ensure that native habitats were not impacted by herbicide treatments. www.sierraecos.com SEA is a wholly owned division of EN2 Resources, Inc.
