Martin Meyer Providence St. Peter Hospital Community Ministry Board Martin Meyer was born in Olympia, as were his father and grandfather. He is the oldest of the youngest one third in a family of all boys. Martin and his wife, Annette (Milam), have 2 boys, the youngest is in the12th grade at Olympia High School and their oldest is a junior at Western Washington University. His wife is a CPA and is currently the assistant director for rates and finance at the Department of Social and Health Services HRSA. Martin is an attorney having been admitted to practice on November 9, 1988, and joined his father, Ernest L. Meyer, and 2 older brothers, Tom and Paul, in practice at that time. Martin’s younger brother Sam joined the practice later and is now a District Court Judge. Martin’s father practiced law in Olympia from 1940-2000. He joined his uncle, Tom O’Leary who practiced law in Olympia from 1910-1964. Uncle Tom started with Frank Owings who was admitted to practice in 1895. The law practice has run continuously since at least that time - almost as long as the hospital. Martin’s practice area includes Estate Planning & Probate, Family Law and Adoptions, Criminal Defense, especially juveniles, Business Law & Real Property. He also serves as a Pro Tem Judge in Thurston County Superior and District Courts, and the Cities of Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater and Yelm. Martin is the Past President of the downtown Olympia Rotary Club. He also established the Interact Club at Olympia High School which the Rotary Club sponsors. He is a volunteer on various court committees related to adoption, family law, court rules and procedures etc. Martin joined the PSPH Community Ministry Board in January 2010 and serves on the Health Services Committee of the Board.
