We are excited to announce that thanks to funding from Arts Council England,
Bridport Arts Centre (BAC) is being refurbished. We are installing a wonderful new
bar/restaurant and kitchen, and are seeking businesses interested in tendering to
develop and run this new catering business.
Situated in the heart of the historic market town, Bridport Arts Centre is a multi arts
venue which opened 40 years ago and plays a central role in Bridport: an attractive
and culturally vibrant market town on the World Heritage-designated Jurassic Coast.
This is a unique opportunity to shape an innovative business in our charming Grade
II listed building.
Delivering a visitor orientated bar/restaurant as well as catering for events, your role
will be a significant one. Excellent customer care and a service that enhances
visitors’ experiences, together with a willingness to operate in a collaborative working
partnership, are essential. You should be able to demonstrate experience of running
successful catering operations.
BAC’s bar/restaurant provides around 60 covers, which include an outdoor garden
area. Your business should have a flexible approach to working hours, and cater for
visitors of all ages and dietary requirements during core gallery and theatre opening
hours - currently 10am to 4pm - and for pre show suppers. In addition to these hours,
your business will operate the bar for all events. You will need to hold a personal
licence, and be the Designated Premises Supervisor at BAC.
Appointment will be through a competitive tender process. Opening hours in addition
to core and bar hours, will be by negotiation.
Deadline for Expressions of Interest is noon on 3 June 2016. Interested parties will
be issued with a Tender document on the afternoon of 3 June, with a closing date for
responses to this of 5pm 27 June 2016.
