7-8 December, 2012 | 9:00 am – 6:00 pm Ruposhi Bangla Hotel, Winter Garden, 1 Minto Road, Dhaka-1000, Bangladesh Information Notes for Participants General The PPP Global Investors' Forum: Bangladesh 2012 is the premier national platform to unveil the pipeline of opportunities for PPP investors covering major infrastructure sectors. The forum aims to showcase the enabling environment created to protect and incentivize PPP investors in the country and to ensure the successful delivery of projects. The forum will also promote the PPP projects in the pipeline that will be offered to tender very soon. The forum is organized by the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Office and the Board of Investment (BoI0 under the Prime Minister’s Office with sponsorship and support from the leading development partners, financial institutions and private business houses. 1. Administrative Arrangements This document provides details on the administrative arrangements for Public Private Partnerships Global Investors' Forum: Bangladesh 2012. If further assistance or clarification is required, please refer to the “Information and Communications” section of this document for contact persons. A. Venue The forum will be held at the Winter Garden, Ruposhi Bangla Hotel, Dhaka during 7-8 December 2012. B. Travel Arrangements Airport: Dhaka is serviced by the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Phone: +88-02-8901449 (off) Fax: +88-02-8901450 C. Visa Participants requiring an entry visa to Bangladesh should apply for one well in advance at their country's Bangladesh Embassy or Consulate to avoid any delay in processing. Please contact Md. Abul Bashar via e-mail ([email protected]) if you need any documentation (i.e. invitation letter) for visa formalities. PPP Global Investors’ Forum: Bangladesh 2012 D. Arrival In and Departure from the Airport There are a number of transportations to get to the Hotel from the Airport and vice versa. Upon arrival/Departure in Airport, there are a number of services available for reaching the Hotel. A FREE Shuttle Bus Service has been arranged for the registered delegates from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to the venue, Ruposhi Bangla Hotel. Taxi is the most convenient transportation from the Airport to the Hotel and vice versa. The taxi fare will range BDT 200-400 ($3-5). You are advised to negotiate for fare. Limousine service is also available with the Hotel you will stay in Dhaka. Please check the fare. There will be an information and reception desk at the Airport for providing assistance to the participants. Please contact the desk for support services and information. E. Accommodation Participants are expected to cover the cost of the accommodation for the whole duration. The participants have to bear their expenses related to travel and accommodation for attending this event. However, PPP Office may facilitate for discounted accommodation booking at the Ruposhi Bangla Hotel (subject to the availability). * Due to high rate of occupancy in hotel, we really encourage participants who arrive in the early morning and depart in late night to confirm your early check in and late check-out in advance. F. Hospitality Arrangements Coffee, tea, and snacks will be served in the mornings and afternoons for the duration of the conference. Lunch will also be provided at the venue each day during the times specified in the conference program. Halal food is available. However, please note that, pork and alcoholic drinks will not be served either in hotels or at the Conference venue. For other meals, participants may make their own arrangements. G. Structure of the Forum A. Inaugural Session (9.15 am – 12.30 pm), Day 1: We will send invitations cards for the selected guests and participants for attending the inaugural session. The Hon. Prime Minister, Hon. Finance Minister and Hon. Foreign Minister will grace this session. Details of this session are provided in the event schedule. B. Plenary and Business Session, Day 1 (2.30 pm - 5.45 pm) & Day 2 (9.30 am – 5.30 pm) Project specific plenary and business sessions will be held during both the days. World famous experts and leaders will share international experience in relevant sectors during the sessions. 3. PPP Office reserves the right to accept or reject any kind of registration. There will be an information desk at the venue from 6th November. The accepted participants will be provided a Badge which will be available in the information desk. 4. Vaccination, Health And Medical Services a) To enter in Bangladesh no vaccination is required. b) First aid and emergency medical services are available at the Medical Center. Appointments may be made through the receptionist at the hotel. c) A first aid facility is also located at the venue. d) The buildings are smoke-free areas. Smoking is permitted only in the designated areas. 5. Website All required information concerning the Conference is available in www.bangladeshpppinvestorsforum.com 6. Working Languages The official language of the Conference is English. 7. Communications International roaming service is available for numerous international cell phone service providers. Moreover, prepaid SIM cards can be bought locally (price is about US$ 3-4). To make an international call, dial 00 – Country code - Area Code – Tel. number. Computers with a high-speed connection are accessed free of charge for the use of participants. A business centre offering computers with internet connection as well as a Wi-Fi area is located in the venue. Computers with internet connection are also provided free of charge at the summit. 8. Local Time Standard time in Dhaka is GMT +6 hours. 9. Prayer Times For Muslim participants, prayer rooms are available at the summit center. Contact the information desk at the venue for prayer timetable. 10. Souvenir Shop Souvenir shops are located on the first floor of the.
