players from ages 14 to 19. Our Boise Gems have been part of Boise’s youth
sporting programs for 46 years this coming 2017 season.

Our program has continued to grow over the past couple of years with the addition
of a third team since the 2014 season. The Boise Gems teams give approximately
50 of our local, East Boise baseball players a chance to continue to enhance their
baseball skills along with preparing them for their next steps in life. Many of these
players participate in volunteer activities throughout the year giving back to our
community.
With a growing and successful program there are however many expenses
incurred with administrating our program. We rely on funding from fundraising
that our players and parents do throughout the year. Our most important
fundraiser for the year is our annual Crab Feed Dinner and Auction. The Crab
Feed is successful due to donations from businesses that are raffled and auctioned
off during the dinner along with the attendance that continues to grow each year.
The attendance has grown to approximately 300 people from the community
made of Gems family members, business supporters and individuals who simply
love baseball and enjoy supporting America’s youth. This year the event will be
held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Basque Center in downtown Boise.
The players and the board of the Boise Gems hope that you and/or your business
will be able to donate an item, or gift certificate, that will be used in our raffle, live
or silent auctions. To donate please mail the gift certificate to the address above or
contact a representative from the Gems Board of Directors. We will gladly pick
up your donation at your place of business. Boise Gems Baseball is a non-profit
organization, 501 (c)(3), and for your generosity, the Gems will provide you
and/or your business a receipt for tax purposes.
