A second - RC-210 controller Kenwood TM-V71 2M/70cm radio Troubleshooting 147.24 • April 2013 – Interference with input frequency - Solved – 147.84 from commercial station harmonic • Dec 2014 – Crackling noise – Not solved (yet!) – Present when repeating stations – Not present when repeater only (ID, time, announcements, etc.) – Not present when using Yacolt Linking input to 147.84 Troubleshooting 147.24 • So far.... – Several trips to the site • Wayne, Gary, Loren & Rick – Viewed input & output with 4 service monitors – Swapped antennas/feed lines (CX-333, CX-333, GP-98) – Put repeater on separate TX/RX antennas w/o duplexer – Put repeater in ‘Repeat’ mode (no external controller) – Reinstalled 150MHz paging filter on receiver – Tried to replicate problem off-site • Frequency & deviation check • Key down ‘heat’ test, etc. Troubleshooting 147.24 • At this point it doesn’t seem to be ... – Antenna/Feed line/Polyphaser (3) – Repeater – Duplexer – Isolator – Controller Troubleshooting 147.24 • The next steps possibility list ... – Substitute repeater with new Yaesu DR-1X Repeater – Close examination of grounding on equipment – Replace repeater ceramic receive filters (2) – Swap or substitute power supplies – Learn of any PSAP issues Data Systems BBS, RMS & Digipeater Locations 144.99 441.060 144.92 144.94 223.700 Questions?
