Future external Linking capability?
A second - RC-210 controller
Kenwood TM-V71 2M/70cm radio
Troubleshooting 147.24
• April 2013 – Interference with input frequency - Solved
– 147.84 from commercial station harmonic
• Dec 2014 – Crackling noise – Not solved (yet!)
– Present when repeating stations
– Not present when repeater only (ID, time, announcements, etc.)
– Not present when using Yacolt Linking input to 147.84
Troubleshooting 147.24
• So far....
– Several trips to the site
• Wayne, Gary, Loren & Rick
– Viewed input & output with 4 service monitors
– Swapped antennas/feed lines (CX-333, CX-333, GP-98)
– Put repeater on separate TX/RX antennas w/o duplexer
– Put repeater in ‘Repeat’ mode (no external controller)
– Reinstalled 150MHz paging filter on receiver
– Tried to replicate problem off-site
• Frequency & deviation check
• Key down ‘heat’ test, etc.
Troubleshooting 147.24
• At this point it doesn’t seem to be ...
– Antenna/Feed line/Polyphaser (3)
– Repeater
– Duplexer
– Isolator
– Controller
Troubleshooting 147.24
• The next steps possibility list ...
– Substitute repeater with new Yaesu DR-1X Repeater
– Close examination of grounding on equipment
– Replace repeater ceramic receive filters (2)
– Swap or substitute power supplies
– Learn of any PSAP issues
