concepts that were awarded a prestigious Etoile du Design in 2009. The innovative
YAKKAir range that revolutionised the inflatable concept in 2009 is further
embellished this year with two new models aimed at beach holiday paddling.
The new wave of fishing kayaks that we set rolling a few years ago has extended
itself to include 4 fully but differently fitted models. And we didn't wait for the
ecology bandwagon to come along to start respecting the environment : all our rigid
and semi-rigid models are and always have been recyclable.

Sustainable development : a priority for BIC Sport
In order to respect the environment, our kayaks are made in thermoformed
polyethylene, a particularly ecologically friendly material, as during its production
very few hazardous chemicals are used and there is no wasted material.
Again in the production of the kayak, all excess material is broken down
and recycled back into the production process, any gas emissions into the
atmosphere are negligible and the water used for cooling is recycled.

THD - Tri Hull Design : designed for fun
The unique THD shape provides the optimum in speed, comfort and stability for
BIC Sport Kayaks. The result of 30 years of BIC Sport watercraft design and innovation,
the THD shape has been developed to provide improved gliding and stability while
maintaining maneuverability. Inspired from current tri-maran designs, the THD shape
features a central section (1) for increased gliding, two outside hull sections (2) to
stabilize the kayak and two intermediate concaves (3) to create lift and an optimal mix
of water and air for heightened performance. These designs have also been picked up
on by the Observeur du Design, which has awarded BIC Sport numerous prestigious
"Etoiles du Design". These Etoiles were in recognition
not only of the kayak design, but also of BIC Sport's TST
construction technology that is environmentally friendly.

YAKKAir : The choice of materials and the design of our new YAKKAir range
have been the subject of an enormous amount of research, resulting in a kayak
that is light weight, good looking and delivers great performance. The dynamic,
double-concave hull gives the kind of handling you’d normally expect from a rigid.
A revolution in inflatable kayak design. An award has actually been granted to this concept
end of 2009 with our YAKKAir HP 1 having been rewarded with an Etoile du Design.
The seat ergonomics of the whole BIC Sport kayak range have
been particularly developed for optimum paddling comfort.

Twin sheet Technology creates a product that is lighter and
stronger than rotomoulded products. These qualities, coupled with
our UV resistant polyethylene, give BIC Sport kayaks exceptional
durability. Durable and rigid: With 30 years experience in the
design and manufacturing of water sports equipment, BIC Sport
has used its vast knowledge to make BIC Sport Kayaks fast,
comfortable and stable. The hulls of all BIC Sport kayaks have clean
fluid lines despite their compact size. These characteristics give the
kayaks excellent gliding and stability qualities.

The Ouassou is designed as
a versatile, fun kayak with a
wide range of use.
With its excellent glide, control and maneuverability, the Ouassou is ideal for beach fun. The stern handles let you hang on and swim
and allow easy access on board. The Ouassou also handles surf and waves comfortably. The ‘spatula’ shaped hull is derived from surf
longboards and rodeo kayaks. It’s quick and responsive.
The slight keel and lateral rail design provide directional stability and excellent tracking. The Ouassou’s optional knee-strap system also
allows you to secure your body to the cockpit when you are looking for greater control in waves or whitewater. Its compact form and

The adventure kayak
The Kalao is a veritable 4x4 of the kayak world.
Equally at ease on the sea or rivers, for fun or for
fishing, it really is the kayak for all adventures.
Like all BIC Sport kayaks it features plenty of innovations. The fluid, stable hull design makes it simple for a family of two adults and
two children to all ride together in complete comfort. That makes it the first true 3 (adult) person sit-on-top on the market, with 3 proper
ergonomic seats. Essentially, the Kalao combines capacity of the old style family canoe, with the safety of a Sit-on-Top kayak!
The other big first : it can be adapted to take an electric motor. The largely flat hull design with very little water draught is extremely
stable and allows the kayak to go almost anywhere. Such aspects as storing your belongings while kayaking, as well as carrying and
transporting your kayak have all also received detailed attention. The fishing version has numerous additional features, including :
4 rod positions, 2 large watertight boxes, plenty of storage space... One other important point : it’s unsinkable.

The Yakka Fishing was conceived for people with limited

performance, the rigid hull / soft
deck concept gives it plenty of character and it will quickly become the perfect partner for your water adventures. The Yakka can
be set up in minutes: just unfold the hull sections, secure the center support and inflate the sides. For pack-down, simply deflate
the sides and fold the hull closed. Once folded, its impact-resistant hull measures only 1.50m (59”) x 76cm (30”) and the inflatable
bladders are protected by the durable and smooth PVC materials. The Yakka is an innovative concept and design that makes

The Yakka was designed for those with limited storage
space for their kayak. The principle is similar to other
semi rigid, folding boats: it can be folded and stored
in a small space. On the water, the Yakka is a high performance kayak that glides along on its rigid hull and provides a paddling

High-pressure !
The YAKKAir range is a true revolution in inflatable kayaks. The guiding
principle of these innovative boats has been the use of multiple materials
in the construction to help reduce weight, plus the combination of a keel
and a high-pressure inflatable hull/floor to maximise the V effect and performance. The YAKKAir series are lighter, perform better and give
a more comfortable ride than conventional inflatable kayaks as you are paddling in the dry thanks to the rigid high-pressure floor.
Wind drag/resistance is reduced and they are easier to steer at sea, giving them a performance equal to that of existing rigid designs.
YAKKAir kayaks are perfect for your seaside holidays : folded down into a carry bag, they're easy to carry on foot or in the boot of your car
and are fully inflated for use in minutes using a high-pressure pump with a pressure gauge.

the YAKKAir Lite is aimed
specifically at coastal paddling close to the beach, for rivers and for other inland waters.Suitable for all skill levels, stable, strong and light
weight, the YAKKAir Lite is the ideal way to get out on the water on your holidays. Folded down into its tough storage bag, it's simple to
transport either on foot or in the boot of your car.On the construction side, the same multi-material format as used on the YAKKAir HP
(Polyurethane bladders + Dacron bladder sleeve, multi-tube bottom with a coated fabric outer skin) has been used. The rigid stiffeners at
front and rear tips help to pre-form the hull, sharpening the cutting edge and further improving the already excellent glide.
YAKKAir kayaks can be fitted with flexible deck cover to keep splash water out, without any hindrance to movement or safety (see Accessories page).
